Historia
In 1848 Vermont, railroad foreman Phineas Gage sat above a hole, preparing to blast through some granite. A 13-pound iron rod fell from his hands into the hole, triggering the explosion and sending the rod straight through Phineas' head. Thirty minutes after this terrible accident, Phineas sat on the steps of a hotel, patiently waiting for the town doctor to arrive. He chatted with his amazed coworkers as if nothing had happened. But something terrible had happened.

Masterpiece?
Revisado: 08-23-24
I have listened to the two other DSM 5 texts, with only a pause to question my decision based on a review, I paid not much. The two purchased previously in my opinion are very good, better than this one.

Excellent. Delivers title and much more.
Revisado: 10-20-23
Impressive in range and accuracy of interventions used in treating patients seeking help from mental health clinicians. To describe the scope of clinical expertise, I will use the general terms such as psycho/bio/social and neurobehavioral--to the author's credit, the writing is specific, clear, ripe with examples.
Addressing those clinical spheres, the author is long on details (how to, how not to, and how might), like a clinical supervisor or collegue instructing how best to help patients. The book addresses the clinical realities of working within and with a team, from both psychotherapist and psychopharmacologist points of view. His opinions inform many issues and were welcomed by me, fact based and formulated, not just because I agree with them.
