really fun and action packed
Revisado: 01-26-15
Any additional comments?
I really love Ilona Andrews. The characters are always fun and more than they seem to be at first and the action is always great. I really like this start to this new series. are some of the characteristics/ themes of the romance part predictable? yes, but it is done well and my interest never waivered. you have the stubborn arrogant male (which is still fun and i love) and the female who gives him a run for his money. i think this series has so much fun instore i can't wait for the next. if you like other books by Ilona Andrews i think you will like this one. definately worth the credit.

Another shockingly suspenseful installment in #1 New York Times best-selling author Karen Marie Moning's Fever series. Burned picks up right where the surprising conclusion of Iced left off, and will feature beloved characters Mac and Dani O'Malley as they embark on another high-octane adventure in the Fever world.

not what i expected but loved it!
Revisado: 01-26-15
What about Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross ’s performance did you like?
Phil Gigante's voice.....wow, both Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross do a great job. you can tell each character from the other and they really bring the book to life
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
i almost did listen to it all in one sitting
Any additional comments?
first let me say, this book was not what i was expecting. This was primarily a Mac and Barons story, which i absolutely LOVE them so once i got myself in that frame of mind i was very into it. Dani wasn't present for most of the book. i really love her so in that sense i was a little bummed. The characters of this world are fantastic, i love the action parts and sometimes laughed out loud. there is a couple of parts where Mac does alot of "reflecting" and i was ready to move on to more action. I really do love this series and cannot wait for the next. if you haven't started this series, i always suggest starting with book one of the "Fever" series. some stuff is quickly recapped but you REALLY would miss too much of the growth of the characters and important details if you just started with this book.

cant get enough of this series
Revisado: 01-01-15
If you could sum up Seventh Grave and No Body in three words, what would they be?
totally worth credit
What did you like best about this story?
the narration is always fantastic, best ever, the story is STILL terrific, still funny, still action packed, still hot...oh yes..sometimes after a few books the romance of it all takes a backseat and never has the same spark in some series BUT NOT HERE! this series is worth starting from the beginning, there is so much evolution of the characters you don't want to miss out. I love this series.
What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
everything, I don't think anyone else could deliver the way she does!

good start to a series..i was entertained
Revisado: 08-06-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
i would recommend this. it has some similarities to other books in this genre but enough fun, new interesting stuff that it kept me really entertained. love the gargoyles in the book, that is a fun addition to the paranormal romance! it is true that the lead female is a little weak and the action pretty much happens with her sitting on the sidelines a good portion of the time, but did...very MINOR SPOILER...use her vehicle as a weapon to help out in a fight and that was hilarious! SPOILER OVER....not everyone can be a kick butt bad ass super hero, I'm ok with that when the character has other great qualities that contribute to the story and she did. the other characters, some of which are very bad ass, lead me to believe there are going to be some really good books to look forward to. Tavia Gilbert is a terrific narrator.

fantastic series
Revisado: 05-27-14
What made the experience of listening to Dreams of Gods & Monsters the most enjoyable?
i haven't even finished this book yet but had to write a review. this is the 3rd book in the series, and it is fantastic. you NEED to start this series from the beginning, waaaay too much happens and there is so much character developement you would cheat yourself if you started from book 2 or something. laini taylor's writing is poetic. descriptive isn't even close to describe it, poetic...she uses different words, she is not typical in any way, and paints a total scene. not sure how else to describe it. she doesn't simply say someone feels a loss, her comparrisons and depth of description are quite beautiful even when she describes something terrible. some may find it too wordy or too long even but i feel she doesn't take it too far, i think she tells an excellent story. it is a different kind of fantasy novel, there is so much going on, battles, love, hate, sooo much. the first book is good but they get better as you go. you might feel the lead female to be slightly immature in the first book but i think that is kinda the point, she really grows and i think the series is great. worth the listen. very good narration too.

Being a goddess is a lot less fun than you might think. Especially when you're only a half goddess, you only found out about it recently, and you still don't know what you're doing half the time. And when you've just used your not-so-reliable powers to burglarize the booby-trapped office of a vampire mob boss. Yeah, that part sucks. But that's just the tip of the iceberg for Cassandra Palmer, aka the Pythia, the freshly minted chief seer of the supernatural world.

good series
Revisado: 02-06-14
Would you recommend Tempt the Stars to your friends? Why or why not?
I would recommend this series. I always encourage people to take the time and start with book 1. the author does give a brief recap of what is going on but you really miss out on some great stuff and significant character development if you skip books. it makes the lead characters more "believable" when you have gone through their growth "with them". Starting out in book 1 and 2 you may find a few inconsistencies in things the author tells you is possible in this world. stick with it, the books, story, characters, and narration get better and better with each book. they really are fun, there is a lot of action/adventure, magic, mystery, comedy, unique characters, creatures and some of awesome sexual tension! Cassie is a great heroine, worth the listen. Hunt the moon, book 5 is the best so far, tempt the stars, book 6 is good but just a little slower. definitely worth it, try the series.

better and better each intallment
Revisado: 02-06-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
yes, I would recommend the series starting from book 1. you could definitely start with a later book in the series and figure out what is going on because the author gives a brief recap. However, if you do this there will definitely be something lacking in the story and your feel for where the characters have "come from" and you won't be as invested in their relationships. it is worth it. Kara's character is growing, the mystery is good, there is action, and they are fun.

Welcome to the world of Kara Gillian, a cop with a gift. Not only does she have the power of "othersight" to see what most people can’t even imagine, but she’s become the exclusive summoner of a demon lord. Or maybe it’s the other way around. The fact is, with two troublesome cases on her docket and a handsome FBI agent under her skin, Kara needs the help of sexy, insatiable Lord Rhyzkahl more than he needs her. Because these two victims, linked by suspicious coincidence, haven’t just been murdered. Something has eaten their souls.

good second installment
Revisado: 08-22-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
i would recommend this book. i think it is a good second installment in this series. i will definately get the third. I feel there is a lot of potential here, and the author is just getting the ground work down. interested to see where this all goes. there is still self doubt with the lead character Kara. She doesn't yet see her own potential and value but she is definately growing. Her power is growing and taking an interesting turn. The mystery is good, the crime scences are descriptive but not as shocking as the first book, not quite as dark. the romantic/sexual tension is good. The narration is good as well. give it a try. i would say you should start with the first book because it flows better that way. you don't want to miss how Kara got where she is, however they recap enough in this book you would get the basics.

Any additional comments?
I really liked this book. sure the lead female was a little weaker than I first expected but I feel like she had grown by the end of the book. I feel like as I get into the series she is really going to transform. not every lead female starts out of the gate kicking butt, they all got to start somewhere! I certainly wanted more by the time I was done with this one. lots of potential! The crime scenes were pretty descriptive and they talk about the torture of the victims, some may have a hard time with it but I never felt it was way over the top or just for shock value. the mystery and drama of it were done well. I am definitely getting the second one in the series and put the others in my wish list.

Would you consider the audio edition of Fifth Grave Past the Light to be better than the print version?
absolfreakinlutely! the print version is fantastic but Lorelei King brings something soooo great to the story. she was made to narrate this series. her timing is fantastic and she can totally deliver the snark!
if you haven't started this series you NEED to. start with book 1 and enjoy. they get better and better as you go, which says a lot because they are so good. mystery, suspense, fantastic humor, wonderful paranormal characters that are very unique, great story telling and VERY HOT! thank you Ms. Jones for keeping it hot!!! this is the fifth book and the chemistry is still intense, never boring.
