When Michael Lewis reads the preface he unwittingly shows us what a good narrator might have done: found the right tone to convey the irony and sarcasm which abounds in this great book. Instead we get a narrator whose sonorous voice can't hide the fact that he is terribly suited to the work...

Nothing Short of Revolutionary!

Read it. Think about it. Read it again. Although there will be parts of this book that we layman will find hard to grasp, they aren't essentially to appreciating Hawkins' theories. Really quite a striking and potentially important explanation of the structure of intelligence.

A Great View of a Great Man

This book does a great job of weaving the historical, biological, and political history of the time into a very compelling recounting of a particular exploration. The only shortcoming was a slight tendency towards repetitiveness, but overall a very worthwhile read.
