Fun and easy listen, felt like a YA novel
Revisado: 01-18-23
It was a fun, cute story. The narrator did a decent job, and the voices helped me keep track of who was talking. It was pretty predictable, and some of the characters were a bit flat. Despite that, though, it was fun listen and I'd say it would be good for a road trip or a good bedtime listen.

Historia
In a remote village surrounded by vast forests on the border of Moldova and Ukraine, sisters Liba and Laya have been raised on the honeyed scent of their Mami's babka and the low rumble of their Tati's prayers. But when a troupe of mysterious men arrives, Laya falls under their spell - despite their mother's warning to be wary of strangers. And this is not the only danger lurking in the woods. As dark forces close in on their village, Liba and Laya discover a family secret passed down through generations.

I gave it a try
Revisado: 01-16-23
The writing was not quite what I was hoping for. The narrator did a decent job, and I liked the premise of the book. However, I really struggled to finish this one. Some of the sections were too long, and the places that could have been more flushed out were a bit lacking. I think it had a lot of potential, but I found my attention wandering, and the resolution was unsatisfying. I do think that there are people who will like this book, though, so I'd encourage you to listen to the sample and make up your own mind.

Wonderful story
Revisado: 12-16-21
I loved this I really really did, but the two times the narrator says Sabrials name at the very end she pronounces it incorrectly. Every other story in the series says it in a uniform way. Every other thing was wonderful. I could not be more excited that there was a new chapter in this world. I think it might be time to look for hard cover copies of these book somewhere and read them that way. Also the narrator gave a wonderful performance.

It was interesting
Revisado: 11-23-19
It was not a bad book but there was so little actual story in the middle of all the descriptions.

I will never tire of listening to stories!
Revisado: 11-13-19
I adore the richness of this world the wonderful flow of the language. I have listened to them at least 5 times now and never do I become bored. I only wish that there were new stories in the old kingdom series. They make me think of Narnia.
