Historia
In Carrying the Fire, Michael Collins conveys, in a very personal way, the drama, beauty, and humor of the adventure of reaching the moon. He also traces his development from his first flight experiences in the air force, through his days as a test pilot, to his Apollo 11 spacewalk, presenting an evocative description of the joys of flight as well as a new perspective on time, light, and movement from someone who has seen the fragile Earth from the other side of the moon.

I really enjoyed listening to Michael Colin's book. From the forward to the end, it successfully achieved the goal to present Mike's experiences and an insight into what Mike achieved and a detailed look at what it took to get you the moon and back.

Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

scary eye-opener. WOW

What a great way to present a very serious subject. As a former army officer who worked with special weapons and now as a IT professional, this subject is very close to me. But I must say I'm not prepared, and I'm trying to figure out how I can be.
Everything about the book from the writing to the presentation was first class, I highly recommend you to read this.

Historia
Air Force pilot Captain Carlyle "Smitty" Harris was shot down over Vietnam on April 4, 1965 and taken to the infamous Hoa Lo prison—nicknamed the "Hanoi Hilton." For the next eight years, Smitty and hundreds of other American POWs—including John McCain and George "Bud" Day—suffered torture, solitary confinement, and unimaginable abuse. It was there Smitty covertly taught the Tap Code—an old, long-unused World War II method of communication—to many POWs. In turn, they taught others, and it quickly became a way for POWs to communicate without their captors' knowledge.

A waste, no more news
Revisado: 03-23-21
There's a lot of special interest articles but no news. Since about Christmas 2020 the format changed from 4 headlines and one editorial to 4 special interest articles. Four or five years ago they messed with the format and I stopped listening daily. I picked it back up again in late 2019 when they switch back to having news again. and now it's not a good use of my time. I normally download it and go straight to the chapter index and review the four titles that they are talking about today and then exit out of it. I seldom find something that's a value to me to listen to.

Good history
Revisado: 03-17-21
It got tedious at times. I'm glad I finished it, it helped clarify what happened and the role of the Catholic Church in all of this. I guess the biggest item I learn was how Galileo's conviction by the Pope through the Inquisition brought learning and science to a crawl in Italy that it struggled for centuries to regain scientific momentum.
