Historia
Camille Iverness can take care of herself. She’s done so since the day her mother abandoned the family and left Camille to run their shabby curiosity shop. But when a violent betrayal leaves her injured with no place to hide, Camille must allow a mysterious stranger to come to her aid. Jonathan Gilchrist never wanted to inherit Kettering Hall. As a second son, he was content to work as the village apothecary. But when his brother’s death made him heir just as his father’s foolish decisions put the estate at risk, only the sale of a priceless possession -- a ruby called the Bevoy -- can save the family from ruin. But the gem has disappeared. And all trails lead to Iverness Curiosity Shop -- and the beautiful shop girl who may be the answer to his many questions.

Revisado: 12-08-24
This was my first listen to this book & I very much enjoyed it. The reader did a wonderful job at bringing Camille to life. I loved that she was very much a real person, not a pampered dignitary, who was both smart & hard working. Her journey, although it was painful, really did work out just as God had planned. I enjoyed meeting Jonathan & getting to know his family. The father was quite a surprise. And his sister Penelope. Overall this story made me feel like I was viewing real families & their dynamics & beliefs. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good adventure.

This was my first experience with this series. I chose this title because I love southern mysteries & New Orleans at Halloween sounded like fun. I enjoyed getting to know Ricki. She seemed very genuine to me. And the story was complex yet easy to follow along. I am committed to reading/listening to more of this series.

Historia
1950: Margaret Devonshire (Megs) is a 17-year-old student of mathematics and physics at Oxford University. When her beloved eight-year-old brother asks Megs if Narnia is real, logical Megs tells him it’s just a book for children, and certainly not true. Homebound due to his illness, and remaining fixated on his favorite books, George presses her to ask the author of the recently released novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe a question: “Where did Narnia come from?”

Exceptional!
Revisado: 11-21-22
This book was a complete surprise for me. This was my first time reading Patti Callahan. And certainly NOT my last. Her writing was magical. It was lyrical. Just dreamy! I felt as if the characters really existed. The relationship between Megs & her brother George was so sweet . And I really enjoyed the story within the story. I learned so much about C.S. Lewis & I can't wait to read Becoming Mrs. Lewis! The narrator, Fiona Hardingham, was exceptional in bringing a voice to the story. I highly recommend this book.

Loved it!!!
Revisado: 09-11-22
I had no idea this story was inspired by John & Abigail Adams. It was a gripping story. I have such a soft spot for stories of liberty. Susanna & Ben were an amazing couple & they made me swell with pride for their courageous acts. Lt. Wolfe was the perfect villian. I absolutely abhorred him! The narrator was wonderful for bringing all of the characters to life. Jody Hedlund is an amazing author & I look forward to more of her books.

Historia
A third son to an earl, Adam Gillensford knows his only hope of an inheritance is through his great uncle. But when the Will is read, Adam learns most of the wealth has been left to a complete stranger, and a seamstress at that. If he hopes to salvage any kind of funds for himself, he has two choices: adhere to his late uncle’s wishes and assist the new heiress in finding her way, or sabotage her so the courts will find her unfit to inherit. Deciding his course would be easier if the heiress wasn’t so enchanting.

Historia
It's Christmastime, but not everyone is jolly - especially not Vonne Barnett. Her dead body has been found in Victoria Square. Katie Bonner, the manager of Artisan's Alley, happens to be at the tea shop Vonne's mother, Francine, owns when the news is delivered. Vonne left a trail of men behind her so the suspects are many - but the clues are few. A broken teacup leads Katie to one of the suspects, but before she can investigate, she's attacked. Katie may be closing in on a murderer, but time is ticking because the murderer is definitely closing in on her.

This one was my favorite by far. The plot was so well thought out that I didn't have a clue who the murderer was. The relationship between Katie & her former mother-in-law was touching. I'm excited to see what new adventures brew with Tealicious.
