D.J Molles keeps pulling me back in
Revisado: 09-03-20
I thought I was done with this series as story fatigue set in after completing the Remaining and then the first book in the second series. However, D.J Molles keeps pulling me back in with his writing. I love his style of dark and gritty, keeping things real to the series. This isn't a fairy tale and I love that D.J embraces this and shows the true dark nature of the world he's created. There's no sugar coating anything. I love how no character is safe, your favorite one could go at any time lending again to the "realistic" nature of the story to fit the world D.J created. Every time I think I've had enough, I finish a book and I'm ready for the next one. Keep doing what your doing D.J.

Not what I was hoping for
Revisado: 01-27-20
This prequel, so to speak, doesn't really add much to the existing story. Maybe it's just me, but I thought the show did an okay job distinguishing there was something between these two characters previously. When I first saw this audio book was out I was very excited to listen to it. My hopes it would expand on more of the back story of the fay land and more information on the Pact. I'm quite surprised Amazon has not expanded on this universe more, I feel there is some very interesting and exiting backstory here that could help us better understand the world the story takes place in. Sadly the show nor this book do either. I'm hoping in the next season they do expand on more of the backstory, I think there is a lot of interesting information and a great story there.

Historia
The First Lord's game has reached a critical apex. For the first time in millennia, the teams are equally matched. The field itself holds a kind of equilibrium. It is the task of Björn's Players to unbalance the field in their own favor in their great game to restore Balance to the Realms of Light. But with Malorin'athgul and now Warlocks returned to the realms, the game - and the stakes involved - has elevated to an entirely new order of magnitude, requiring Björn's Players to do the same.

Story is beginning to feel dragged out
Revisado: 01-21-20
I love the series, but I’m beginning to feel like the story is being dragged out with too many view points. The story didn’t really pick up until the last 6 hours, which was a long road to get to that point.

Not quite on par with bobiverse
Revisado: 08-23-19
The story overall isn't bad, but it just didn't pull me in like Bobiverse did. The story doesn't really feel original if you've ever read/listened to B.V. Larson's Star Force. They're not identical, but there is a lot of cross over in the overarching conflict in the story.

Awesome ending to a fantastic series!
Revisado: 02-08-19
Man what a roller coaster of a ride this series has been. The combination of the fantastic writing and phenomenal performance by Bronson Pinchot left me laughing out load and found tears in my eyes many times throughout the entire series. It is not often an audio book can bring out these kinds of emotions to make a physical appearance, but this series did it countless times. Not to mention all the times my heart was pounding out of my chest with suspense. At the end of the series you kinda feel like a full fledged member of team ghost. This is one that will definitely need to be revisited.

Historia
Our universe is ruled by physics, and faster-than-light travel is not possible - until the discovery of The Flow, an extradimensional field we can access at certain points in space-time that transports us to other worlds, around other stars. Humanity flows away from Earth, into space, and in time forgets our home world and creates a new empire, the Interdependency, whose ethos requires that no one human outpost can survive without the others. It's a hedge against interstellar war - and a system of control for the rulers of the empire.

This one was bit harder to get through
Revisado: 12-13-17
What did you love best about Oathbringer?
The best part of the book doesn't come until the last 7 hours of the book. It was a little tough to get to this point in the book.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I think Adalin is now my favorite.
What does Kate Reading and Michael Kramer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Honestly I do not like the way this is setup with these two readers. I've said this countless times in my other reviews in this series. All the female voices should be done by the female actor and all the male voices should be done by the male actor. It weakens your submersion into the story when you hear two different voices for the same characters. I really wish this would be done differently in the future.
Any additional comments?
Be ready to slog through the first 48 hours of this book. I feel like this one was way slower to get going, which being the third book in the series this shouldn't be the case.

In Reconstruction-era America, vampire Henry Sturges is searching for renewed purpose in the wake of his friend Abraham Lincoln's shocking death. It will be an expansive journey that will first send him to England for an unexpected encounter with Jack the Ripper, then to New York City for the birth of a new American century, the dawn of the electric era of Tesla and Edison, and the blazing disaster of the 1937 Hindenburg crash.

Not an action packed story, but very enjoyable
Revisado: 12-13-17
Would you listen to The Last American Vampire again? Why?
Not, sure there is a lot of re-listening value with this one.
What other book might you compare The Last American Vampire to and why?
Can't think of one.
What about MacLeod Andrews’s performance did you like?
One of my favorite narrators.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes
Any additional comments?
This book won't knock your socks off with a bunch of action, but the story is actually addictive. I found myself thoroughly engrossed in the story and wish some important parts of the vampires involvement in WWI and WWII were expanded upon.

Story has great potential
Revisado: 04-12-17
First the narration is not as good as the other books on audible. At times it feels like you're listening to a robot recite something. You can tell the author is not quite as experienced as others such as Brandon Sanderson rather big fantasy names. However I do think the story has great potential and I found myself thinking of all the unique ways the story could go on. I'm really looking forward to the second book and hoping for improvement in both the narration and the author is writing skill.

This story still brings waves of emotions.
Revisado: 03-13-17
Although the story may feel redundant at times, the telling of it is masterful. I found my self engrossed in the depths of the story still. Marko Klos does an amazing job bring emotion and action together in was that keep you transfixed. I honestly couldn't believe it when the 10 hours were up and the story coming to an end. I can't wait for the next installment.
