Historia
Booker T. Washington fought his way out of slavery to become an educator, statesman, political shaper, and proponent of the "do-it-yourself" idea. In his autobiography, he describes his early life as a slave on a Virginia plantation, his steady rise during the Civil War, his struggle for education, his schooling at the Hampton Institute, and his years as founder and president of the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, which was devoted to helping minorities learn useful, marketable skills.

The amazing and invincible Booker T. Washington
Revisado: 03-19-24
The voice on this audio is perfect and steady, I learned so many new philosophies and techniques of dealing and seeing life through this book. Booker T Washington shows throughout this book that true accomplishment comes when you truly believe you can accomplish it. His measure of success, “Success is not a measure of what you achieve, it is the obstacles you’ve overcome to achieve it.” Is one of the wisest quotes I’ve ever heard. This audio inspired me to be a hard worker, and learn to love labor for its goodness and benefits. I would definitely recommend this book. 10/10

By way of a gripping account of the Redeemer's earthly life, especially through discourse and dialogue, the The Gospel as Revealed to Me sheds light upon the whole doctrine of Christianity in keeping with Catholic orthodoxy. It narrates the birth and childhood of the Virgin Mary and her Son, Jesus; the three years of Jesus' public life, forming the largest section; his passion, death, resurrection, and ascension; the beginnings of the Church; and the assumption of Mary.

fr Peter is the a fantastic narrator. I was riveted throughout. I have never listed to anything as long as this and was never really bored. Often I found the reading I would hear in the day echoed at church is a somewhat supernatural way. I feel like I traveled in time. I feel like I know my friend and master better. Thank you fr Peter and Maria. Well done.

Angels: What the Bible Really Says About God’s Heavenly Host

In his latest book, Angels, Dr. Heiser reveals what the Bible really says about God's supernatural servants. Heiser focuses on loyal, holy heavenly beings because the Bible has a lot more to say about them than most people suspect. Most people presume all there is to know about angels is what has been passed on in Christian tradition, but in reality, that tradition is quite incomplete and often inaccurate. Angels is not guided by traditions, stories, speculations, or myths about angels.

The Bible Aint So Boring Now....
Revisado: 01-21-16
Where does Supernatural rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
In terms of making me think different. in the top 3.
What other book might you compare Supernatural to and why?
Anything by Brian Godawa, because we draws from Hieser's source material for the rules of his stories. If you have not read those stories. Well... To me that's like saying, "I have read The Silmarillion why bother with Lord of the Rings..." Story...
Which character – as performed by Gordon Greenhill – was your favorite?
Jesus, from the vantage point of the author, is very calculated and heroic. NO CHEESINESS HERE TRUST ME! Lots of Jesus books are overly preachy this is just hammers a lot of good (unique) points home in a way nobody else has. Seriously. Nobody has ever written about Jesus with this vantage point for at least 2000 years.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When you understand when Jesus calls out Satan and Banias, and fools him into killing him you realize the new testament is the greatest chess game ever played. Jesus outsm, arted the Devil. Dude he was so smart about it too. Just killer.
Any additional comments?
Just listen to the book. If you hate it you can always return it. However you would be a fool to becasue info like this kind of info only comes around every.... well.. 2000 years apparently. You wont return it. You will sit back and smoke a cigar and think..."God's kind of a bada$$ isn't he?" He is. This book proves it.

The Rite describes the reality of demonic possession. It also traces the history of exorcism and and treats related topics such as satanic cults and black masses. Since Fr. Thomas was a skeptic and the author is a fact-seeking journalist, this book is more compelling even than the previous best-seller on this topic, The Exorcist.

Would you listen to The Rite again? Why?
yes, it contains a lot of valuable information. No to mention you may someone who needs it.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The priest the father shadows in Italy, I am bad with names.
Which scene was your favorite?
The book is not so much about scenes as it its life lessons.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did listen to this book in one sitting. Its compelling.
Any additional comments?
There are a lot of myths about exorcism. How to handle, detect, or pray when faced with the issue. More common is Diabolic oppression. I have had some experience with this issue and have met people who deal with it in the Catholic church. The greatest mistake is to believe the mythos that Hollywood is selling. Yes these things do happen. Yes they are frightening. They will, at first, frighten that pants off you. But ultimately they can be healing. Also please know that if you don't want to be like me and know this all through experience. Never assume you can take these on by yourself. Do note seek any refuge beyond a LONG established Christian church. Ideally Catholic. I don't even care if you are not catholic. Time and Time again people have suffered longstanding oppression or worse yet possession. Do to religious pride, or a taught hatred of the Catholic church. For those of you who believe that Rome is the city built on seven hill refereed to in the book of Revelations. Just know that many cities were built on seven hills. Athens, Istanbul, Mecca, Moscow, Seattle, and at least fifty more... Including the biggie Jerusalem. Do be so quick to think that Rome is the Whore of Babylon. Do your research, deception keeps you from truth, and in this case healing. There is a reason Satanist only use a Catholic Eucharist in their Black masses to insult God. These things are NOT myths. It might sound like old hat but avoid secular thinking and new age teachings, Trust me they are door ways. Trust me unless you too and to wake up in the middle of the night to a horror that will haunt you for the rest of your life.

Now the anchor of The O'Reilly Factor details the events leading up to the murder of the most influential man in history: Jesus of Nazareth. Nearly 2,000 years after this beloved and controversial young revolutionary was brutally killed by Roman soldiers, more than 2.2 billion human beings attempt to follow his teachings and believe he is God.

Fact and Fiction
Revisado: 09-25-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Only someone who is interested in 1st century life... not the life of Jesus from a religious perspective.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
O'Reilly makes a lot of assumptions theologically that ultimately negate the possibility (as outlined in his own faith's canon) for salvation and clearly views Jesus as a man who discovers he is God's son rather than Gods soul assuming the flesh of a mortal and subject to its pains. That aint too Catholic Billy.
Which scene was your favorite?
I do very much like the historical background of the time period. The politics, historical heroes forgotten in Jewish culture. He lays a great ground work for an understanding of the politics and time of Jesus. BUT, then again is not all that original either because all he is doing is rehashing Josephus in a more modern tone. Actually, the Jewish War is pretty compelling. and this book (in parts) is the abridged form of that book.
Was Killing Jesus worth the listening time?
sure...for background history. There is another book on audible that does a great job too...Life in 1st century Jerusalem...or some similar title. It did a better job for giving me a visual feel for the place. Again though, just pay attention to the history and cultural aspects. The religious stuff is all fodder for anyone who has spent a great measure of time studying with scholars and archeologists. For example, Asserting Mary Magdalene was a poor woman and was a prostitute cannot be backed up. We only know that she was cleansed of 'several demons'... that could have been insanity. Assuming history is not writing history. This is were Bill falls short. When he does not have Josephus or or a Roman scholar like Tacitus to fall back on to prove his outlooks... he is writing fiction. Shallow fiction. He treats Mary and Joseph, when Jesus is lost in the temple, as though they, at that point, do fully understand the magnitude of who their child is. This again is a far jump from what any real scholar of the bible would call legit. Its the worst part of the book... and its what the book strives to be about.
Any additional comments?
Stick to the facts you can back up Bill. You do a great job with documented history, and culture. Theologically... I am sorry man... you're a 'pin head.' Just my 2 cents and I am welcome to them.

What is a near death experience and why are so many persons interested in this phenomenon as of late. It is due to the fact that seemingly more and more persons are coming forward to recant their experiences that they had when they were in near death situations. As such the author who is extremely interested in topics of this nature decided to focus on the near death experience and also to expound on what this really means based on the research that he has done.

Pass.... better stuff on you tube
Revisado: 09-05-13
Would you try another book from Richard Cole and/or Brian McGovern?
Nope..no way
What was most disappointing about Richard Cole’s story?
it cost money. It was short, It said nothing about the afterlife that had any resonance. The author acts like its an ipmortant book. Its a half hour of nothing new and very little stories. Into the Darkness was a better book on this subject. Heck many saint wrote of better description of the hell and the afterlife. Seriously. This is a book that should not be sold. Its a waste of money.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Yes it was well read. Too bad the reader had crap to work with,
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I struggle to find any redeeming qualities. Spooky cover I guess.
Any additional comments?
If the author really has something to say he needs more content to back himself up or at the very least to engage the reader. Its just not worthy of this store. If this was Walmart it would be in the bargain bins a week after release. This book is old belongs on you tube. Take it off your shelves,

Historia
In December 1975, the Lutz family moved into their new home on suburban Long Island. George and Kathleen Lutz knew that, one year earlier, Ronald DeFeo had murdered his parents, brothers, and sisters in the house, but the property - complete with boathouse and swimming pool - and the price were too good to pass up. This is the shocking true story of an American dream that turned into a nightmare beyond imagining for the Lutz family, who were forced to flee their new home in terror.

Where does The Amityville Horror rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Its up there. Very spooky. Not as Good as ed and Lorraine warrens books but up there.
Who was your favorite character and why?
the priest who was oppressed
Which scene was your favorite?
The whole opening act is great.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
its has an overall creepy vibe. The times when the family saw the Pig creature. Its sounds dumb writing it like that, but its pretty scary in the book.
Any additional comments?
Its such and old book that you can hardley ask for comments but What I will say is that this book needed a followup. Ed and Lorraine Warren wrote a lot of books that audible needs to have made ASAP. At least one or 2 by Halloween. The narrator needs to be the same as this either this book or preferably the Demonologist book. This book was all build up and nothing...or next to nothing of the investigation in the house to get it exorcized that followed. Seriously. The Warrens wrote so much and their story is a box office hit this summer. How can you not have more of their book up here. Its like Audible does not want to make money. Cash in on it now Audible. God knows there will be three Warren films that will come out. You are missing the boat on this. People want to know about these two people, more than they want fictional horror.

Revisado: 08-29-13
Would you consider the audio edition of The Demonologist to be better than the print version?
YES.... this felt like an extension of the movie. The only way to improve it would have been have Lorraine Warren do her vocals. But no matter. This book was a home run. You need more books of this caliber out there.
What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?
The stories,,, though I know there are many more not yet told...sequel please..?
What about Todd Haberkorn’s performance did you like?
He is a fantastic actor/ reader. Don't use any other reader if there is a followup with just Lorain.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Some of it scared the crap out of me... I will say that. I had nightmares for several days. I never get nightmares/
Any additional comments?
Audible this is your clue to get more compelling supernatural Christian nonfiction books out there. There is a market for it. This book needs a sequel. I have seen enough UFO crap. This is you next target to make money.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
first off its a good story and pretty well read. Also it opens your mind up to a whole new way of looking at the bible and history. would be great as a film.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Methuselah... really cool character. He needs his own book.
What about Brian Godawa’s performance did you like?
Really good except for some dialog moments with the archangels... they did not sound... otherworldly enough to me. I dont know if thats the writing was of or the reading. The end conflict however was epic! The reader/ author really gets into it and you feel like you are on this battlefield with him as this wave is coming..
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I just got a jolt at the final chapter. It was Just such a cool and epic 3rd act
