Less about fitness and more about his life story.
Revisado: 12-11-16
Too much fluff. 90% of the book is about the Vinnie grabbing women's tits and less about his NSNG protocol. I appreciate the simplicity of the NSNG lifestyle but the over the top life stories go on and on.

What did you like best about Army Wives? What did you like least?
I liked the look into military lives and the way it touches military families at home. I am a navy wife myself and found myself nodding and smiling while relating to some of the stories. I felt like the author did a decent job of capturing this but sometimes was annoyed how she kept referring to her connections instead of focusing on the families.
Any additional comments?
I think that more information on the realities of military life could have been explored but I understand that wasn't the full focus of this book. The way the at home wife is left to make hard choices and then defend them and how being left out of these decisions can make the service member feel is important. More education should be done on emotional health of the spouses and their families but this book is an important one for every one to read or listen to.

Great story
Revisado: 06-03-15
Where does The Girl You Left Behind rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This would be one of my top 20 books I have listened to. I loved the historical part. The present day storyline was good as well. The narrators were great and very distinct from one another.
Any additional comments?
I wish the investigation of the painting seemed more realistic. It seemed like information came magically to people that would have been an obvious route of investigation in a real case of this magnitude. It doesn't make me feel less about the book but was something that made me roll my eyes a couple times. Obviously it is fiction for a reason. I also somehow didn't realize it was set during WWI until later into the book. Might have been my fault but that should have been laid out better.

Decent Book
Revisado: 06-03-15
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The story started off strong but the middle of the book was slow and had tons of rambling. I think the ending was better than I expected. The storyline could have been written more concisely and it would have helped it flow better. The middle of the book just dragged in places.
Would you be willing to try another book from Kristin Hannah? Why or why not?
Yes. Hannah had a great ability to articulate emotions and the connections between people. The way the relationships were built seemed realistic and I imagine she can write a more intriguing plot.
What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?
She did a great job of making the story come alive. I thought her voice was more interesting than the story most of the time.
Was Firefly Lane worth the listening time?
I don't think it was worth the time put into listening to it. I listened while cleaning and running errands but honestly tuned out several times and didn't bother re-listening to those bits.

Narrator missed the mark here
Revisado: 05-30-14
Where does Natchez Burning rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I really liked the plot and as a ebook or print book I would have put this as one of my top books this year. My issue was with narration. I actually was shocked that they would cast someone sounded like a stereotypical black man in this time. I thought it was insensitive and creepy because of the storyline to do so. Until I realized that this was a white man with a horrible idea of what southerners sound like.
This book was one of those that I couldn't stop listening to and thought it was overall well written. I just kept laughing and reminding myself to ignore the horrible 'accent'.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me angry because although just a book it made me realize how little time has past since that time and we still have more progress that needs to be made. It made me aware of how easily things like that could have happened.
Any additional comments?
Although the narrator was not great at all (I thought that they had cast a black man from the deep, deep, deep south) I still thought it was worth it. I couldnt wait to hear where the story was going. I do think that the plot got confusing at times, who was responsible for what, and that should have been addressed by the editors.

Good followup book
Revisado: 05-30-14
Where does Insurgent rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Probably a middle of the line book for me. A must listen as a followup to divergent but definitely not a favorite.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I actually cringed at several parts of the books. One glaring part of this book was how juvenile the relationship between Tris and Four played out when their words were so mature. It was a glaring problem for me. The conflict between them was both understandable and expected but also carried out far to long. I understand they were both teenagers but the rest of the book made them into mature for their age and their actions were much more mature. So when the conflict starts between them I felt like Mrs. Roth was dragging it out just for content. It made me really annoyed.
Any additional comments?
I really liked this book overall. There were several times when something happened that I was NOT expecting. It made it really enjoyable for me. I also loved hearing the development of the characters. Great listen overall.

Had to force myself to listen until the end.
Revisado: 05-30-14
What would have made Allegiant better?
The storyline was predictable and very similar to the last books. I felt like the whole book could have been condensed into expanding the second book by a few chapters. I felt like it was a pushed story and not interesting.
What was most disappointing about Veronica Roth’s story?
The most disappointing part of the book was how repetitive it was and that I was able to accidentally leave it running for almost 45 minutes and I had not missed anything important. Didn't even go back to listen to those parts.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I actually thought the ending kept the spirit in line of the first two books. I just wish it had evolved in a way that did not mirror the same events that happened in the first two books.

Great Narration with bad story
Revisado: 04-08-14
What disappointed you about What the Dead Know?
I started off enjoying the book but had some trouble keeping characters straight at times. Didn't get easier. The plot was not believable and mildly disturbing. The characters were straight from every generalization imaginable. I hated the main character and found her distasteful.
