What a story! I lost count of how many times I was on the verge of tears!
One part in particular had me yelling at the audio! lol
Emma has spent her whole life living on Sable Island. She dreams of going to the mainland to gain a degree in psychology. She just needs to convince her father. Before any decisions are made a ship wrecks near the shores of the island. The ships captain and her crew are rescued and stuck on the island until the next supply ship arrives. And if the weather holds up.
This give Emma time to get to know Captain Oliver better. As he heals from his injuries they spend time exploring the island. Emma and Oliver are falling in love but life isn't so simple.
Time keeps them apart until Oliver's granddaughter travels to Sable Island to visit the place her grandfather fell deeply in love with the woman he never stopped loving.

Bacchus Kelsey, elite magic user, has arrived in England to apply for his mastership. He catches Elsie breaking one of his spells. He agrees to keep her secret as long as she helps him fix unruly spells around the estate.
Working together brings them closer.
But Elsie is still worried about the murders of wizards and the theft of spellbooks.
When Elsie is lured back to her hometown, she begins to realize that all is not what it seems. Will she be able to uncover the truth before it's too late?

She's been haunted for years by her own mysterious past: She was abandoned as a baby in one of the city's ancient cemeteries, and it’s rumored that she is the illegitimate daughter of an infamous Savannah witch doctor. The local Gullah culture of voodoo and magic is one that few outsiders can understand, least of all Elise’s new partner.

Made me want to scream! Trigger warning as they deal with cults in this.
It was interesting to have the story told from three different perspectives. Two mothers and the daughter they share. The first mother's perspective is told from the past, which really leaves you wondering what could possibly be going through her mind in the present.
I just expected her to betray her family the way she did at the end.

Wraps up nicely...
Revisado: 07-24-23
What a great conclusion to this trilogy. It was interesting to see how the past had affect Lucas. The heavy burdens he carried all because his parents selfishly didn't seek to get help for him. It was great to see that by slowly sharing those things he know he wanted to heal this part of his past in order to have a future.
After all these years Lucas Carson still lives with the guilt of not helping his baby sister the night she ran away from home. He was too scared to help and still hadn't dealt with the events that traumatized him. When Lily resurfaces Lucas takes off unable to face her.
When Lucas crosses paths with homeless teenager Shilol Bloom, all he sees is a chance to absolve his past mistakes. She reminds him of Lily and he's determined to keep her safe. They invent a cover story for her sudden appearance and begin to lean on each other.
But the arrival of a bounty hunter causes then both to panic, Lucas is sure that the law has finally caught up with him and Shilol is sure her mom's shady boyfriend hired this person to track her down.
