Historia
Keeper Kate has spent weeks searching for her missing brother. Following his trail, studying clues, and using the mysterious aenigma box to help reconstruct the story of what had happened to him. But she's gotten the story dreadfully, catastrophically wrong. Now, faced with the losses and scars from her search, she and Venn must tackle a new obstacle: the elven White Wood and its ruthless king. In a desperate attempt to find her brother, Kate finds herself entangled in a deadly quest to find the Warden of the Wood—a search that will lead to her own death if she doesn't complete it in time.

This is a book that I had trouble putting down even when I had other things to do! It's a must listen as far as I'm concerned.

This book was boring. I love the reader. I kept listening hoping it would get better. I can't see me getting anything else from this author.

Historia
The Annurian Empire is disintegrating. The advantages it used for millennia have fallen to ruin. The ranks of the Kettral have been decimated from within, and the kenta gates, granting instantaneous travel across the vast lands of the empire, can no longer be used. In order to save the empire, one of the surviving Kettral must voyage beyond the edge of the known world through a land that warps and poisons all living things to find the nesting ground of the giant war hawks. Meanwhile, a monk turned con-artist may hold the secret to the kenta gates.

Nope
Revisado: 09-03-24
I tried to return this title and audible would not let me. They said I had returned too many books. I tried to return one last month but was refused for the same reason. This book has the f word literally almost every other word in the first part of the book as the book continues it is still a very frequent word as well as many other swear words. It completely takes away from the story. If you can write a good story you don't need all of that. I wish I could return this! I'm really hoping someone from audible sees this and pays attention to it.

Good story, but...
Revisado: 08-31-24
it's a good story. I enjoyed the first book and the second book both. the problem is, you can't get the third one on audible! that's ridiculous. I can't hear the rest of the story. this is causing great irritation.

Decent story, but.
Revisado: 07-17-24
this was a decent story. however, since it wasn't announced when chapters were changed it made for the story sounded very broken up because I couldn't tell what story belonged where. for example I couldn't tell when we were switching between one Army to the other army or the Faye army or whatever that current chapter had to be going through. it took a few minutes to catch up on to figure out who and what I was listening to. a couple of the primary characters in the story have names that sounded similar so that added some of the confusion to it as well. the narrator had way too many breathy sounds into the different characters that listening to the breathing effects made it also difficult to listen to. like I said, the story itself is decent and I listened all the way through. to be honest I was kind of glad when it was finished.

Ok but drawn out
Revisado: 03-04-24
The story was pretty good until it started these frequent LONG drawn out sections. Twists and turns make a good story until there are so many it's hard to keep up. I was kind of relieved when the book ended and will not get the rest of the series.

this is my second listen to this book. I have all of these in the series and this is actually the second time I've been going through them! I love the author and the reader and the person that I can't remember what she's called the director or, I'm sorry I can't remember. but the story and the way it was told is amazing.

it sounded like another book I read.
Revisado: 01-05-24
this book sounded like another book with very similar characters by another author that I dearly love. it was a slow start but picked up. the epilogue was not an epilogue but sounded like an advertisement for the beginning of another book. an epilogue is a summation of the book or story that it already been told. not a part of another book. this made the end of the book very confusing.

Good, but predictable.
Revisado: 10-02-23
The book itself was good, but definitely predictable. it was a disappointment after all of the Ryeria stories. Now they we're beyond excellent! and I'm glad I started with them rather than this one, otherwise I may not have made it to the other books.
