I bought this book for my 23 year old daughter, even though I’m not happy she’s living with her boyfriend I wanted to encourage a wholesome marital type relationship which apparently is their goal. I always tease her about her OCD organizing so She no doubt loves the organizing part. I loved the blend of story and cookbook. I had been a Nick Lachey fan and I quickly fell in love with Vanessa. My daughter‘s not old enough to know Nick Lachey but after reading the book, with the family traditions, I knew it would be a beautiful & interesting first cookbook. My daughter is excited about having children someday and really enjoys Reading the family traditions. She’s good at what she does cook so these are great recipes for her to broaden her cooking experience and blend cooking, tradition and family. Thank you Vanessa for sharing such a touching story and my prayer for you is that you and your daughter’s relationship Will help to heal the mother Loss that you feel. I’m sure you’ve heard of the old adage how better to learn something than to teach it. As a single mom and nurse I always worked a lot and my daughter and I never really cooked together except cookies so I hope this book can help her do better at that for her children. Your courage in sharing your story Will no doubt be healing for other women who have experienced the same mother loss you did.
And also encourage Time consuming career mothers to want to make memories for their daughters of cooking together at least a couple of recipes. God bless your family and thank you for blessing other families with your courage, family traditions and story!

Never had a book make my eyes well up w tears story after story. I bought this thinking I already know all he’s going to say but let me tell you first I didn’t second he touched my heart so many times I can’t count. I’ve seen him on YouTube and I thought he’s not for me even though I agreed 100% with what he said and I’m a very direct person myself but I was soooo wrong! He has a new fan and listener and am grateful he wrote this book. Especially on atheism because my daughter has a bf who is a Baptised Catholic but has an atheist father and a Catholic in name only mother who believes in abortion so I’m sooo worried but now feel ready to have her hear Jesse to help her refute him and wake her up maybe she will lead him home or move on. I’m praying Spiritual Warfare daily myself after my reversion 20 years ago.

This inspiring book should be a movie

I don’t know anyone who ever went to prison let alone a family member but this audiobook gives insight and how Alice stayed so strong could only be with Gods help. There’s so much injustice we have to change it. I listened to this book straight through so very inspiring. Alice is such an inspiring person. God surely had a hand in her case. Also I’m so happy to see Kim Kardashian West continue on to do others like Alice. I hope Kim KW stays in touch with Alice and uses Alices wisdom she’s gained as God formed her with fire Kim is intelligent and using her fame for good. Praying for her efforts law school and such will align with Gods will also hoping she stays humble. Alice is very humble and I’m so happy for her and so sorry she lost both parents while incarcerated but suffering brings you closest to Jesus Christ and Alice clearly knew that and called on him and served him daily. Even in her sleep! God speaks to us in our dreams and he spoke to Alice it was so amazing so inspiring. Alice was a wonderful and deserving soul who deserved Clemency. Thank God for Kanye and Kim K wanting to use their fame for good. Thank the president for listening to his daughter and son in law. Thank President Trump for his compassion for those who are suffering Hopefully our justice system and prisons can be reformed and the First Step Act can help those released to become good citizens.

I loved Melissa Joan Hart before the book now even more. Shes not a phoney celebrity. Shes real and honest about her weaknesses and laughs at her mistakes. Shes the best funniest girl next door. I love her humor. Shes very pretty and has a kind soul. I know people that went to school with Joey Lawrence in Abington Friends and he's always been a nice person since Melissa and Joey are friends to me birds of a feather.....

I listen to a lot of audio books most have nice soothing voices and are pleasant to listen to but I could hardly listen to this narrator she had a high pitch gravel like voice. I cant even describe it. It was so irritating I couldn't really concentrate on the content.
