Miriam steps off the train looking for a job, not a husband. She refuses to be wed, and Gideon is unspeakably embarrassed by the misunderstanding. Stranded in Savage Wells, Miriam has nowhere else to go - and a secret that she's determined to keep from everyone. She has epilepsy, a condition that other doctors had claimed was symptomatic of madness, a diagnosis which prompted her family to have her committed to an asylum. Miriam is afraid that if Dr. MacNamara finds out the truth, he will send her back to the asylum, but Gideon is not like the other doctors she has encountered.

Intriguing and engaging

I found the reading to be difficult to follow. The reader was quiet and hard to hear.
I found the story more understandable when reading so well as listening to it. It made it easier to follow. But it is a very good book.

What a wonderful story!
Revisado: 09-18-19
I have read a lot of time travel books, but this one is so real. The narrator does such as incredible job with the accents and the words, that you feel like you are there and don't want to stop listening. The book is a fantastic story that is impossible to put down. I wanted it to keep going and not end.
