Historia
In Disarming Leviathan, Campbell equips Christians to minister to their Christian nationalist neighbors. He introduces the basics of Christian nationalism and explores the reasons so many people are attracted to it. He also addresses a variety of American Christian nationalist talking points and offers questions and responses that humbly subvert these claims and cultivate deeper, heart-level conversations.

2024 Election Must Read
Revisado: 11-09-24
With the election results of 2024, this is a must listen for Bible believing Christians who are not political extremists yet have friends or family members who are. I plan on buying a physical copy so I have it as resource to access the talking tips and scripture references.

Historia
"In this house we believe that: Black Lives Matter, Love Is Love, Gay Rights Are Civil Rights, Women’s Rights Are Human Rights, Transgender Women Are Women". You may have seen signs with some of these messages in your neighborhood. They offer us an all-or-nothing package deal - in short, a secular creed. In this provocative audiobook, Rebecca McLaughlin helps us disentangle the beliefs Christians gladly affirm from those they cannot embrace, and invites us to talk with our neighbors about the things that matter most.

Thoughtful and sensitive
Revisado: 05-16-23
The often divisive topics explored in this book were handled with sensitivity and grace. My sense was that the author is rooted in love and compassion even though I may not reach the same conclusions she reached theologically.

Couldn’t finish it
Revisado: 02-23-23
I’m sure it was a delightful performance. I was expecting it would be about recovery based on the title but it was mainly about celebrity gossip - at least at the two hour mark where I stopped listening.

Historia
We’ve all seen the memes that populate the internet: live your truth, follow your heart, you only have one life to live. They sound nice and positive. But what if these slogans are actually lies that unhinge us from reality and leave us anxious and exhausted? Another Gospel? author Alisa Childers invites you to examine modern lies that are disguised as truths in today’s culture. Everyday messages of peace, fulfillment, and empowerment swirl around social media. On the surface, they seem like sentiments of freedom and hope, but in reality, they are deeply deceptive.

This could have been a good blog or magazine article. The author had a few good points that were stretched out into a whole book. Honestly, I played it fast to make it through. Another Gospel was a compelling read - if you haven’t read or listened to that, check that one out.

Historia
Have you ever wondered how a dialogue with a Jewish person on whether or not the Messiah is God would develop? Now there is no need to wonder. This book contain an actual exchange of letters between a Jewish man and a Messianic Jew. A dialogue of this type can take many different directions and is usually based on the comments of the other party.

Short and painful
Revisado: 07-17-22
A quick listen but very painful to get through. In my opinion both the minister and rabbi were hostile in their correspondence with one another. There are better messianic resources out there. I’d recommend any of Dr Michael L Brown’s messianic material which thoughtfully and compassionately addresses a multitude of rabbinic writings and opinions.

Historia
Following the nuclear attack by Russia, Israel has been cleaning up the bodies of dead enemy soldiers for 7 months and setting out on its 7-year plan—both per the prophecies in Ezekiel. As corruption in high government offices threaten to block the election of a worthy presidential candidate by all means necessary—including the unthinkable—Israel’s leadership is tempted to sign a “peace” proposal initiated by the UN under the authority of Coliquin. Joshua is convinced Coliquin may well be the prophesied Anti-Christ and that his peace plan is a trap to destroy Israel.

Compelling story
Revisado: 06-27-22
Continues with the right wingish politics (environmentalism is evil etc) but a compelling story. With a listen but too bad the authors couldn’t move beyond the constructs of conservative and liberal American politics and stick to the biblical themes.

What is motivation? Why do we feel totally paralyzed to do certain things, and utterly unable to quit others? Too many people conclude, falsely, that they are just lazy or lacking in willpower. But what they lack is a correct understanding of their own minds, of motivation, and the way that it operates.

Undergrad paper
