Historia
Hannah’s up to her ears with Easter orders rushing in at The Cookie Jar, plus a festive meal to prepare for a dinner party at her mother’s penthouse. But everything comes crashing to a halt when Hannah receives a panicked call from her sister Andrea - Mayor Richard Bascomb has been murdered...and Andrea is the prime suspect. Even with his reputation for being a bully, Mayor Bascomb - or “Ricky Ticky”, as Hannah’s mother likes to call him - had been unusually testy in the days leading up to his death, leaving Hannah to wonder if he knew he was in danger.

What kind of schizophrenic mess is this?
Revisado: 11-01-24
Just when you think it can’t possibly get worse, it does. Between the constant recipes - with all the advertising for the various brand names, and the ridiculous internal dialog this book is terrible. Exactly what does telling us all about Keurig’s Swiss Miss hot chocolate brings to the story??
I’ve listened to many of the Hannah Swensen books. They were great initially but the annoying cat meows, chase scenes, children voices and the recent addition of the voices is too much. Unless they’re free, I won’t listen to any more.

Historia
Life in Lake Eden, Minnesota, is usually pleasantly uneventful. Lately, though, it seems everyone has more than their fair share of drama to manage. With so much on her plate, Hannah Swensen can barely find the time to think about her bakery - let alone the town's most recent murder... Hannah is nervous about the upcoming trial for her involvement in a tragic accident. She's eager to clear her name once and for all, but her troubles only double when she finds the judge bludgeoned to death with his own gavel.

PLEASE stop the children’s voices and cat noises
Revisado: 10-16-24
The series is sadly declining. This a poor, longwinded story that’s been fluffed up with cats playing and recipies. I really enjoyed the earlier books! Unfortunately I’ll probably keep reading in the hopes that the author returns to the earlier writing.
NOTE the recipes being read will continue to be like paint drying but I can fast forward.

Historia
It's been a sleepy summer for the folks of Lake Eden, Minnesota. In fact, it's been a whole four months since anyone in the Swensen family has come across a dead body - a detail that just made the front page of the local paper. And that means Hannah Swensen can finally focus on her bakery. . .or can she? Life is never really quiet for Hannah. After all, her mother's wedding is a little over a month away and guess who Delores put in charge of the planning?

Hate the cat and child voices
Revisado: 10-14-24
I like the stories. I’ve read them all up to this point. I have the same complaints for all of them. The cat’s meow and the child’s voice are grating and cringy. I fast forward through these parts. And way too many recipes. It would be great if they were kept at the end of the book. Who wants recipes read to them? YAWN.
Debatable whether I’ll continue the series as it seems that audible is taking them off of the “included” list. Paying for multiple books that include so many recipes is not appealing.
This particular story is not as good as previous ones, again yawn!

Disappointed
Revisado: 07-18-24
I’ll like the cozy mysteries. They’re easy to listen to and enjoyable. This heroine is very annoying though. Apparently being a mystery writer gives you “training” in detective work and allows you to insert yourself into any situation. Lily is very judgemental regarding a profession she has had no exposure to. I’ll finish the books but I won’t be getting any more from this author.

Unbearably Longwinded detail descriptions
Revisado: 05-19-24
I was really hoping to like this one. But I believe the author wasn’t sure he had a good story, so he filled the time with descriptions. This was like reading a high school essay that required “x” many words and the student just filled it in with random words.
I never got past the endless descriptions of all the guests before I turned it off.
