The story was well told, flashing to pieces of the past and trying to figure out what happened so they knew what to expect in the present. The characters were a bit vaguely developed but the relationships between them were well fleshed out. It was nice that you couldn't see the end coming right from the beginning.

Cute & Light

There was nothing terribly heavy in this series! Light, sweet, and full of big-hearted characters. The ending tied up very nicely, if a bit suddenly. All of the 18 books peaked out of almost nowhere, and ended rather abruptly, but it always worked, somehow! This was well written and the narrator was perfect.

This series was wonderfully written and not overly cutesy or air-headed like so many I've stumbled across. The characters were savvy/clever and the crimes were well thought out. I wish more cozy mysteries were like this!

The virtual voice was not as off-putting as I was expecting, though it is impossible to differentiate between who is speaking unless you pay close attention to who was named. It can't do different voices/accents for each character as a human would. There were a couple odd pronunciations, though notably fewer than you would tipically find with a human narrator.

Loved the twist ending!

I so enjoy angles I don't see coming! Beautifully written, excellently narrated - though the mispronunciation of Mille Lacs Lake rankled a bit...but unless you're local, there's really no way to know. Cannot wait to dive deeper into the series!

This is an excellent explanation of the science. It spells out the results, and what actions we can take immediately. This book was life-changing, and I will be sharing it with everyone who will listen!

Great story

I was a bit concerned when I first started listening to this book. I was worried someone had ripped off my favorite Christmas series by Jacqueline Frost...so I did some digging and was relived to find that Julie Ann Lindsey IS Jacqueline Frost! I love the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery Series. I was a little disappointed with the similarities, but the character development made this worth a listen anyway. I'm eager to continue this series!

Well written, but very short.

The storyline was good, but very short. The chapters were fluffed out with depth of feeling, perception, and emotion rather than story. It was very well written, but the length of the story didn't match the depth of emotion for me. It became difficult to follow the actual plot. It was almost more poem than murder mystery. The narrator was perfect though. Spot on!
