Historia
FBI agent Rachel Walling finally gets the call she's dreaded for years: the one that tells her the Poet has returned. Years ago she worked on the famous case, tracking down the serial killer who wove lines of poetry into his hideous crimes. Rachel has never forgotten Robert Backus, the killer who called himself the Poet, and apparently he has not forgotten her either.

Obvious story line. Worst Bosch novel I have read
Revisado: 03-18-24
I think this book was written by several different people with like regard for a good story. Very trite. Not what I expect from Connelly.

Historia
Boston homicide detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles are plagued by what seems like a completely senseless murder. Sofia Suarez, a widow and nurse who was universally liked by all her neighbors, lies bludgeoned to death in her own home. But anything can happen behind closed doors, and Sofia seemed to have plenty of secrets in her last days, making covert phone calls to old contacts and traceless burner phones. When Jane finally makes a connection between Sofia and the victim of a hit-and-run months earlier, the case only grows more blurry.

Well written and very violent
Revisado: 05-06-22
Toward the end of the book, maybe around chapter 29, I had to skip to the last chapter. Then I listened backwards because I needed to know who was alive. The violence is overwhelming, which is the reason for 3 stars. Excellent character development, dialog sounds true to the characters. Excellent reading.

Much too much torture
Revisado: 09-18-18
After half the book I skipped chapters until something new started happening. Same same old for chapters on end. I generally like the writing and main character but I wanted to finally get on with the story. Since this is a series was obvious that Evan would escape somehow by the end.

Absolutely terrible!
Revisado: 07-31-16
What would have made Louisiana Longshot better?
Halfway believable characters and a plausible story line. Everything except the finale was predictable.
What was most disappointing about Jana DeLeon’s story?
She was trying to be funny, but it she failed.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Depiction of Louisiana bayou country was interesting, but there wasn't much description.
Any additional comments?
I couldn't return the book even though I hated it.

Historia
Gunmen are terrorising young women in the Cathedral town of Lafferton. What - if anything - links the apparently random murders? Is the marksman with a rifle the same person as the killer with a handgun? Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Serrailler falls back on well tried police methods such as questioning neighbours and house-to-house searches.

Badly written and edited
Revisado: 02-14-15
What would have made The Vows of Silence better?
This book was very repetitive. There were too many subplots that did not tie in well with each other or with the main plot. The premise was strange and never really addressed satisfactorily. I was disappointed as the main character is interesting.
What was most disappointing about Susan Hill’s story?
No clear path to discovering the murderer and no understanding of how he was finally sussed.
Which scene was your favorite?
None
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Irritation
Any additional comments?
My last Susan Hill

Revisado: 12-05-13
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I'd be surprised if anyone could enjoy this book.
What was most disappointing about C. J. Box’s story?
It is a rant against any type of government regulation and the story is totally unbelievable. I could not bring myself to finish the listen.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
No redeeming qualities, unlike earlier Joe Pike books.
