Historia
Available as an audiobook for the first time ever, Discernment: Reading the Signs of Daily Life invites you to adopt Nouwen as your personal spiritual guide. Each session was carefully prepared by Dr. Michael Christensen, an award-winning professor of Christian ministry and practice, and Dr. Rebecca Laird, who was Nouwen’s student at Yale Divinity School. Like other volumes in The Nouwen Trilogy, this audiobook collects Nouwen’s unpublished homilies, interviews, classes, and speeches, as well as excerpts from his published writings.

Life changing
Revisado: 04-09-21
I am so grateful to have learned of Henri Nouwen and to have listened to this book. The contents of this book have challenged me to see my relationship with God using a wider lens, opened me up to more possibilities of intimacy with God, convicted me of beliefs which became roadblocks, and inspired me to a surrendered place where I can enjoy an abundant life that is not based on my wants, but God’s creativity! I wish I could have given this book to my younger self and those new in faith within contemporary Christian frameworks.

Historia
A Year of Biblical Womanhood is an exercise in scriptural exploration and spiritual contemplation. What does God truly expect of women, and is there really a prescription for biblical womanhood? Come along with Evans as she looks for answers in the rich heritage of biblical heroines, models of grace, and all-around women of valor.

interesting experiment but I was so confused. Between the journal readings and critiques of the journals and some literature about the topic..i didn't know where the author was trying to land. I didn't know what the take away was supposed to be and often paused to try to figure it out. I may have also been distracted by the sparky, cynical tone. its ok to be cynical and it seems thats her personality but it was very distracting for me as it framed my expectations of the final message leaving me in a constant negative attitude. yeah wanted to get much more from it than I did.

Through vulnerable storytelling, a difficult diagnosis, and a good dose of humor, Margaret Feinberg reveals how joy is more than whimsy. It's the weapon you can use to fight life's battles.

centered in reality and perfection
Revisado: 03-24-18
this book addresses real life and as such offers practical counsel in coping with the inevitable disappointments life brings. grounded in biblical scriptures, this book also offers spiritual strength, one that is also practical and not mystical or dismissive of reality. even more, this book is told by a person who lived through bher story and so it's relatable. I enjoyed this very much.
