Historia
Johannes, a free dog, lives in an urban park by the sea. His job is to be the Eyes—to see everything that happens within the park and report back to the park’s elders, three ancient Bison. His friends—a seagull, a raccoon, a squirrel, and a pelican—work with him as the Assistant Eyes, observing the humans and other animals who share the park and making sure the Equilibrium is in balance. But changes are afoot. More humans arrive in the park. A new building, containing mysterious and hypnotic rectangles, goes up. And then there are the goats.

Historia
In 1845, Sir John Franklin and his men set out to "penetrate the icy fastness of the north, and to circumnavigate America." And then they disappeared. The truth about what happened to Franklin's ill-fated Arctic expedition was shrouded in mystery for more than a century. Then, in 1984, Owen Beattie and his team exhumed two crew members from a burial site in the North for forensic evidence, to shocking results. But the most startling discovery didn't come until 2014, when a team commissioned by the Canadian government uncovered one of the lost ships: Erebus.

The narrator's voice ruined it
Revisado: 03-13-24
I know this narrator has won multiple awards but his inflection and pauses were GRATING. I am fascinated by the story of this expedition but I couldn't finish this book because his voice is just too much, unfortunately.

Cool Story
Revisado: 04-24-23
Great story, entertaining, it is not as good as his other books. The only frustration I have with the narrator is that the main character's name is Louise, but she (99% of the time) pronounced it "Luis," like a Spanish man's name. Kinda annoying.

Revisado: 03-18-22
It seemed cool at first but then it felt like the author just wanted to cram in all kinds of mystical crap. Owl spirits and talking books and a mysterious guy- it felt like some knock-off Stephen King "Dark Tower" wannabe- sorry, Chuck Wendig, The Man in Black doesn't come from a trailer park.
I couldn't even finish it- this book sucks!

What did I just listen to?
Revisado: 06-05-21
Friendship saga turned zombie story turned life lesson? The story was just...not...good. Poorly developed situations, trying to be scary and creepy but nothing had closure- nothing fit together. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone but the narrator was great. :)

Historia
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

Beautiful Story, Horrific Musical Accompaniment
Revisado: 03-11-21
This story is beautiful, the narration is perfect, but WHY is there random horrible, HORRIBLE loud violin/guitar music?? WHY is this sprinkled in this book- as someone who normally listens to audiobooks at bedtime, I couldn’t because of the jarring and horrible screeching music that came and went.

So-so Story, Pressley’s Narration Drove Me Nuts
Revisado: 02-14-21
The story was ok. Nothing spectacular. The voice of Carly- I think it’s Brittany Pressley- was AWFUL. Any word that ended in a “K” or “T” sound she over-pronounced like loud clicks in her throat or with her tongue on the roof of her mouth and it became all I could hear. “New YorK” “NicK” “iT” etc. I hated hearing her speaking knowing those harsh over-accented sounds were coming. The story was boring, and her narration was annoying.

Revisado: 08-09-20
I am a huge ASMR fan and this is just not well done. The audio lacks the crisp, detailed audio quality I get even from smaller ASMRtists on YouTube or Patreon. I don’t see what the fuss is about at all for these Audible Whisperlodge tracks.

Awful Plot, Great Narrator
Revisado: 02-04-20
This story is awful. Maybe I’m used to Stephen King-level plot and character development, but this was just predictable, lame, and disjointed. I held on, wanting it to get better but it turned into a grind to finish.
