Historia
Brooke Shields has spent a lifetime in the public eye. Growing up as a child actor and model, her every feature was scrutinized, her every decision judged. Today Brooke faces a different kind of scrutiny: that of being a “woman of a certain age.” And yet, for Brooke, the passage of time has brought freedom. At fifty-nine, she feels more comfortable in her skin, more empowered and confident than she did decades ago in those famous Calvin Kleins. Now, in Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old, she’s changing the narrative about women and aging.

Not for anyone over 65
Revisado: 02-10-25
Brooke talks a lot about getting old. Aging out of the workforce. However, I think she only can count to 65 because she never speaks of anyone older than that. I found it rather disappointing and at times boring with too many “ studies show…” references. Although I am sure she’s very proud of her hair product line, I’m not sure it’s all that interesting to the readers, to hear all the details of her work meetings. Not much here for 65 up, or seniors as we are called. I never heard the word once. It made me feel invisible to this author’s world.

Sweet Sorrow ~
Revisado: 11-12-24
I could picture Olivia on every page! What a wonderful gift to hear the story of her life! I have loved Olivia since the day I first saw Romeo & Juliette, when I was 14 years old. I still listen to the soundtrack and can recite every line as they are spoken. Little did I know that growing up a Cali girl in the Valley, that she was so near to me! I would’ve fainted had I met her in a deli or walking down Ventura Boulevard! Thank you for this book Olivia! Thank you for sharing your life. To those of you who love the movie, this book will bring more joy than you can ever imagine! Xo
