A Good Book
Revisado: 07-14-23
There was a lot of interesting development that happened in this book. It jumps around and feels repetitive, but that is exactly how it should flow given the outcome we see at the end. The presented concepts are more modern and advanced than we typically see in storytelling, and are quite refreshing.

Good, but the narrator reads too slow.
Revisado: 06-26-23
My main gripe is that the narrator reads too slow. Once I bumped the speed up to 1.2x, it was fine.

Repetitive. Will Age Fast.
Revisado: 04-25-23
This book is kinda interesting because it relates to topics that are currently happening. The fact that it discussed ChatGPT v3 shows that. But the newness will fade quickly and the anecdotal tales will become uninteresting. There comes a point in the book where you have already heard the same message repeatedly and it gets old fast. There is no promotion of higher level thinking either to help the reader get to a place that promotes the processes that lead to hacks.

Time has not been friendly
Revisado: 04-12-23
Since publishing this book, a lot has happened in the world. Much has changed and the anecdotes just don't apply like they would have. There is definitely some good advice and insights, just don't expect this book to be very revolutionary.

It is challenging getting through this book when it is sooo monotone. I bumped the speed up to 1.45x and that helped. If you get past that, the content is alright.

Historia
Emotions are deeply rooted within our lives. They govern our instinct and actions to the point that it is imperative to understand other people’s emotions and how to properly react. In our society we hear a lot of about IQ. The general norm is that a person with a high IQ is bound for success. But is that necessarily true? Some are naturally gifted with the ability to solve problems and think of the fly. However, the ability to interact with others in social settings or in a work place truly overshadows those with a high IQ.

Generalizations and Stereotyping
Revisado: 09-11-19
There was so much generalization and stereotyping. This makes me doubt the competency of the author and ultimately not trust the content. Sure, there is accurate information supplied to build trust, but there is also misleading or "absolute" declarations that just aren't true or are half-truths. Please, save your money and time and find another book.

Pretty Pointless and Boring Plot
Revisado: 08-23-19
Let's grab a handful of science concepts and unrealistic "tools", then mash together some painfully boring plot to try to pull it all together. It is a fantasy book trying to be a Sci-fi book, which makes it that much worse. Either create a magic system or make sure the Sci-fi is at least plausible. At least the book was short and didn't waste too much of my time.

Historia
Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.
