Much better than what I thought
Revisado: 12-18-16
As a fan of Lewis's books, I really didn't know how this might be. But his writing and reading of the story were both great. I loved all the Trail series, but .this one came up to the same standards I thought it would be.

Historia
When Ruben Beeler finds a rancher friend shot to death and mutilated, he calls on Marshals Marion Daniels and Homer Poteet for help. That call begins a chase that takes the men from St. Joe into Kansas and down to Hell on the Border and the Fort Smith court of Hangin' Judge Issac Parker. In pursuit of the killers, the Marshals venture into the Oklahoma Territory, or "The Nations" as it was known at the time, following a path of bloodlust that began before the killing of Arkansas Bill Cole. Serial killers are nothing new, as the Marshals find out on the Cutthroat Trail.

Another great easy listing story.
Revisado: 04-15-16
This the 7th in the Trail series and is every bit as easy listing and good story at the first 6. Was glad to see it come along, since had about worn the first 6 out. When ever I found myself have a hard time finding something to listen, I'd just load one of these up an sit back and enjoy it again.
Couple of them I have listened to 8 or 10 times and each time just get really relaxed and let it flow. All are really good stories, with the author narrating about as well anyone I have ever heard. Each book has a few chuckles than just kinda sneak up on you, I can't see how someone would not enjoy each of these books. *****

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

This story kept me on edge for the full 10 hrs. I don't know if any of the things they did is possible, but it was enough that I got up early this AM to finish it. Some folks might not llike it's pace, but was really good listen!!!

On 2nd listening found to be a really good book
Revisado: 06-20-15
bought in Jun 2012. Was looking for something to listen to and could not remember this story.
2nd listen seemed to strike something in me and as I listened I found it to be a very good story.
Strange how sum times a 2nd listen brings out things that I never heard in 1st.

Another really good book by D. Lewis
Revisado: 02-05-15
I now have all 5 of the Trail series. I have listened to 1 - 4 at least 4 times and this one twice. While the stories are really good, it is the reader that makes it so much fun. I can't explain it, but these books just bring a smile to my face. So get all 5 of them listen in the order written, you won't be sorry.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

book is nicely presented by reader/auther.
Revisado: 11-14-14
I have listened to all of the Trail series twice. While the stories a very good, it's the reading done by the author that makes the listen great. I have laughed out loud at many of the different slang terms the charters use through out the book. Hope Mr Lewis has more of these stories coming.
I guess that I am a fan.

Revisado: 09-23-14
I have been listening to Reacher books in the past. Unfortunatly; in this book it seem that any idea or thought required listing the several possible alternatives, over and over this happened and I really had a hard time completing the book. This problem really messed up a good story.
