Historia
I knew my fate the moment I surrendered. I’d seen the public executions on TV. No jury. No bail. Just a hole in the ground and a bullet between the eyes, broadcast live in high-definition. There are worse ways to die, I told myself. I was doing the right thing, exchanging my life for Rain’s. Survival wasn’t everything.

It’s my favorite!
Revisado: 10-30-22
So here I am, frothing at the mouth for this baby, dying to see what becomes of this couple after I dove off the cliff that was Fighting for Rain. And I kid you not, I could not put this book down. If I didn't have to adult, I'm sure I would have had it done in about 3 hours. But also, if I'd done that, I might have been taken away in an ambulance due to how erratic my heart was racing as I devoured this book.
Rain's had it rough. After everything that happened BEFORE the end of the world, who wouldn't feel for the poor thing. But Wes taught her to be a survivor, and thank God he did. She needed every last bit of him building her up to make it through the last book, and it's not over yet.
If you've read this far, you know there were a host of new characters in the last book that are amazing and evoked ALL THE FEELS. You'll know there are some you wanted to wrap up in your arms and keep safe. And there are ones you probably wanted to throat-punch. Some you can forgive, some you want to burn in the bowels of Hell, and you think there's no way they could ever redeem themselves. Well, get ready to have those ideas tested, because at the end of the world, things aren't always what they seem.
I've never read anything like this series. I've never feared that my heart would pound its way right out of my chest like I did in the middle of this book. I've never pulled harder for a group of characters, hoping every last one of them, even the ones who were evil from head to toe, could make it through all the shtuff that was throw at them.
This book, this series, will forever be one of the best I've ever read.
The audiobook on this one was fantastic! Narrators did a wonderful job and really brought the story to life.

Historia
I’ve lived my life by a strict set of rules—rules that have kept me alive, rules that have kept the nightmares of my past at bay. But the moment I met her, I crossed all of them out with a giant X and scrawled the words Protect Rainbow Williams next to them in murderous block letters. That’s all I cared about. Keeping her safe. Keeping her—period.

Absolutely loved this!
Revisado: 10-30-22
"I wish I could say I was surprised, but after everything I've been through, this just feels like a regular Tuesday."
The wait for this baby was hard. The ending of Praying for Rain was spectacular, and the sneak peak of this one she put at the end? I'm pretty sure I threw my Kindle. A. Maz. Ing.
Fighting for Rain picks up right where Praying for Rain left off. It's the day after the end of the world, and the world is still there. But the fight to survive has only just begun. After everything Rain and Wes had been through, you didn't really expect rainbows and butterflies, did you? No matter how much this couple deserves just that, there's still a lot left to do to get to where they need to go. And O. M. G. The ride on this one! Hold on to your hat, because it's going to get tough.
The characters in this book were fantastic. There's a whole host of new ones that gave me all the feels - although a few of those were on the strong side of "I want to punch you in the throat." But those sweet ones, the ones that had me tearing up, were also some of the best. There was one point where I'm pretty sure I choked on my drink before spitting it across the room. There's a good chance you'll know it when you see it, so.... be careful of what you're drinking. You'll thank me for that.
We all know this is a trilogy. Of course there's going to be a cliffy, something to entice you to come back for the last book. But the cliffy here? Yeah, it'll have you diving off the cliff and frothing at the mouth as you wait for the conclusion to this amazing book.
The performance on this audiobook was great. I had to adjust the speed on the first book, as I had troubles dealing with the random pauses of the male narrator, but he wasn’t as bad in this book and I was able to keep the speed normal and enjoyed the whole book.

Historia
I can’t remember anymore if my grandfather’s eyes were blue or green, but I’ll never forget the way they wrinkled at the corners when he laughed at one of his own jokes. Or the way they sparkled with mischief when he told me tales about the magical creatures that dwelled in the forest behind his humble Irish sheep farm. As a child, I believed every fantastical word. But when he warned me about the mute boy who also lurked in those woods, the one the priest had declared to be the spawn of Satan himself, I refused to listen.

Phenomenal book!
Revisado: 10-24-22
I do not have words for how much I loved this book. The connection between Darby and Kellen begins as sweet friendship and slowly turns into the perfect kind of love. There are so many lows in both their lives and I loved seeing the two of them come together as they worked through them and saved each others lives.
This book is phenomenally, both in written and audio formats. It’s definitely my fav book of all of 2022, and will likely live in #1 place for that absolutely brilliant audio forever!

Great audio
Revisado: 06-26-22
This was a good story with wonderful voice actors who really brought the story to life. I enjoyed Addie and Beckett’s slow-burn relationship, and how strong she was considering where she came from.
Since this is the first Catherine Cowles book I’ve had the pleasure of reading/listening to, I struggled with the parts of the storyline that dealt with things that had happened in the previous books in the series.
That doesn’t mean the story didn’t bring all my emotions into play. I don’t know that I’ve ever felt anger as strong as I did while listening to this. The men from Addie’s past left me clenching my fists and wanting to do not so nice things, and there were times when I had to stop and remind myself that, while this likely happens in real life, this book is only fiction.
The suspense at the end was very well done and had my biting back my anger so I could push through and see what would happen.

Your first kiss is supposed to be sweet. Ours was baptized in fire. I was the new girl trying to find her place. Landon was the brooding neighbor I tutored over the summer. I didn’t know he was a legend at Black Mountain Academy. I didn’t know they worshipped him like a religion. But, I fell for him before I knew those things. To me, he was just the tortured soul who drew me in like a magnet. And then, he did something so unspeakable, so unforgivable, it shattered me. I ran away then because I was weak, but I’ve shed my tears.

Fantastic story
Revisado: 04-01-22
I absolutely loved this book when I read it when it came out, and listening to it was like visiting an old friend. The narrators did a phenomenal job, and they really brought these characters to life.
I loved Kael and Landon, and the push and pull between them. The plot was my favorite kind, with so many twists and turns I was constantly kept guessing about what was going to happen next. And that big scene at the end? I mean, I read it twice previously, and it still took my breath away to hear it coming out of the narrator’s mouth. Wow. Just WOW! I love this book so much!

I was a nanny in need of a job. He was darkness personified. I had little to call my own. He was filthy rich, powerful, and dangerous. The assignment was simple, and my goal was too. Take care of his son. Keep my head down. When he least expects it, destroy him. It should have been easy. I thought it would be, until I looked into his stark blue eyes. I came here to steal his life. I didn’t count on him stealing my heart.

I am thiiiis close to finally becoming a full-fledged psychologist. PhD? Check. Prestigious postdoc position? Check. Letter of recommendation from my supervisor? That’s going to take a miracle. Not only because my boss said I have to cure our most-prized client’s writer’s block in time for him to meet his insane deadline, but also because that client just so happens to be…Thomas O’Reardon. The wickedly brilliant, achingly beautiful, devastatingly British best-selling author whose psychological thrillers line my bookshelf at home.

My absolute favorite!
Revisado: 02-12-22
I’ve been dragging it out, because I didn’t want it to end… but I finally finished this and I love it even more than I did after I read the book!
This is one of my favorite books EVER! It had me cackling so hard I was nearly rolling on the floor (not a good thing while driving or at work) and I’m so in love with Thomas and Luna!
There’s something so refreshing about this author’s words. The past few years have been HARD, but this book brought some much needed laughter to my life. Ramona Master has the perfect voice for Luna, and Liam Price? ALLL the swoon. He was the perfect Thomas.
The cast of characters in this story was fantastic and I couldn’t wait to hear what would happen next with every one of them. This book had the steam and the heavy and the light-hearted all rolled into one.
If you haven’t had a chance to read or listen to this amazing book yet, what are you waiting for?!!

It should have been simple. Go to the ball, meet the prince, and secure his patronage for my favorite charity. But beneath the mask, the brooding beast of a man was not at all who I expected. He was dark and intense and eerily quiet. When I left, I could still feel the ghost of his touch branded into my skin. He haunted my dreams, but I never expected to see him again. Then he came for me.

Dark and beautiful, the perfect love story
Revisado: 11-22-20
Stealing Cinderella is one of my favorite reads of 2020, and I’m absolutely in love with the story. So many twists and turns that I didn’t expect, and it didn’t fail to play with my emotions.
Even though I’d already read the ebook, I was so excited to listen to the audio. And while I already knew what was going to happen, the story never failed to intrigue me and keep me glued to my phone.
Ella and Thor’s story is so much more than just a simple retelling of Cinderella. It’s dark and beautiful and everything I love about this author’s work. Thor’s story is so heartbreaking, the man so broken, that it’s hard not to love him and hope for only the best. Ella was sweet and naïve and took more than she should have because of the guilt she felt, but I loved how strong she was in the face of everything that happened to her, and how her softness and good heart changed Thor.
The accents the narrators used initially caught me off guard. While Ella is French and Thor is Norwegian, and Ella’s friends and family are all British, I didn’t expect the strong accents at the beginning of the story. Thor’s voice was easier to get used to, but it took me quite a while to get used to Ella’s. I feel that the accent lessened, and thus the words became easier to understand, which made it easier to enjoy the story without getting hung up on how things were being said.
Overall, I loved this story. It’s still one of my favorites, and I’m looking forward to listening to it again.

Emily’s entire existence is wrapped up in touring with her up-and-coming country rock band Carolina George and trying to build them into a music legend. Her passionate night with a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy was the result of too much time on the road, too much tequila and combustible physical chemistry. It was never supposed to follow her into the light of day, much less threaten everything she and the band have worked so hard to create.

More amazing than I expected
Revisado: 02-26-20
I'm not sure there's any way for me to love this story more. The connection between Royce and Emily was intense from the very beginning. There was so much intrigue, so many moving parts, and I loved watching them all come together in this amazing and beautiful story.
I loved Emily. She was sweet and kind, and wasn't afraid to go after Royce, even when the things that had happened to her caused her a never-ending fear. I loved Royce. He was gruff and protective and stood up from Emily before she even knew who he was. I loved how this story unfolded, how the two of the connected and rose above the bad. And Oh My Goodness! That ending had me in tears!
The cast of characters was fantastic. Rhys had me laughing my head off, especially when he was talking to Mel. Leif was this dark and broody character that has me so intrigued, I'm dying for his book. And Gah! I need to know what's going on with Richard! I need his story, too!
The narrators did a fantastic job on this one. I could listen to Virginia Rose's voice and picture Emily telling me the story in her sweet little southern accent. And Jason Clarke was the perfect Royce, his voice dark and sexy just like the man himself.
Fabulous story! I can't wait for more!

You might be asking yourself why I’m waving an inflatable penis in the air and screaming at the top of my lungs. If I took time to explain, Declan Moss would get hit by a bus. Let me back up. I didn’t ask for this. I was perfectly happy - and perfectly sane - before I stumbled into the role of Declan’s guardian angel. It was a thankless job until the moment that my panties dropped and his delicious smirk found his way in between my thighs. Hello, toe-curling ecstasy. Good-bye, professional boundaries. And suddenly, there’s a new danger to avoid: the falling of my heart.

Cute story
Revisado: 06-10-19
This was such a cute story, I really enjoyed all the quirkiness of Autumn and Mr. Oinks. I loved how Declan and Autumn got together, shifting from would-be stalker to the slow-budding relationship. All the little stories Autumn (and Declan) provided about untimely deaths were such a great addition as well.
I struggled to get into the audiobook when I first started. In fact, I only made it through about 10 mintues before I had to stop and put it aside for a while. There were certain small things that I didn't enjoy, but I tried to push them out of the way and just listen to the story instead. Overall, it was an enjoyable audiobook.
