Great Female Narrator

I really enjoyed the story but it's a good thing thr female narrator was excellent because the gentleman voicing Jackson... was not. His tone is fine but good grief! He pauses in strange places, slows down for no apparent reason, and never once did I believe he was actually emoting at all. I adored the "Kitten" chapters so much, it got me through the rest. Please, PLEASE someone get this man some acting lessons? I think he could be great with some help but as it is... he is sooooo boring.

Dear God, PLEASE Do Research?

This is the only book in the series which uses a different narrator and I can NOT understand why there was a change. I'm sure the narrator is just fine, but WHY was she not given proper notes on pronunciation of key terms and characters?

For starters, "ley line" is properly pronounced "LAY line." The term comes up an enormous number of times in this book - PLEASE get it right? It's not pronounced "LEE".

By the end of the book, hearing "lee line" over and over made me want to scream. And there are two character names that are so oddly mispronounced, it defies belief and gave me involuntary eye twitches after about 25% of the book.

When you add in the uneven sound quality, obnoxious (and painful) high-pitched voice for Jenkx, and the weird, random musical chords that are played for no reason (what is this, a bad radio soap opera recreation??), I nearly gave up on this book completely.

Only the fact that the rest of the series returns to the original narrator convinced me to stick it out... but dear God, it was painful.

I couldn't get to sleep until I got to the end! Fantastic suspense and mystery, with sizzling hest & chemistry between Everly and Gabriel. I need the next book!!

A Delightful Surprise

I loved this book, so I was really interested to see how the Audiobook would be. Such a pleasant surprise! Sierra Kline is really good at conveying characters' emotions/attitudes. Made a scorching read a good, steamy listen.

I Loved Paal

Mr. Adams' voice still bugs me - I wish a different Narrator handled this series, because it's SO good! If I'm in the right mood, I can mostly get past that. And for Paal's story? It's truly worth it. Paal and Leti are both SO relatable and "human" (even though Paal's Zandian, of course). Paal's such a sweetheart, I just ached for him, so many times. It's easy to identify with them, because Renee Rose does an excellent job conveying their thoughts, feelings, and the misunderstandings between the characters.

Narration Could Be Better

I'll be totally honest, I really enjoy the "Zandian Masters" series, but Mr. Adams' voice took a while for me to get used to. He just doesn't do anything for me - not my favorite, I think. For example, in moments when the character has an emotional reaction and curses, his intonation doesn't change. He does alright with accents/voices for each character, but there's no emotion to his reading. Such a shame, since I've read the book, and it's excellent. Sci-Fi Romance is a fun, growing genre, but to be taken seriously, I think really top-notch narrators are called for. Mr. Adam's is passable - but not excellent. If you can get past this, then you should give "His Human Slave" a try.

Fun Departure

I LOVE the "Vegas Underground" series! "Mafia Daddy" is shorter than the others, and is a slight diversion from the norm, as it's not focused on one of the Tacone sons. If you're interested in the series but not sure if it's for you, this audiobook would be a good way to give it a try.

Junior's Fall

"Vegas Underground" is one of the BEST Mafia Romance series I've read, hands down - I could NOT read them fast enough! I go through serious withdrawal and feel compelled to reread them all the minute I'm done. (I may had a problem...) "Joker's Wild" is really satisfying, because we get to see Junior, the Big, Bad Oldest Tacone FINALLY fall. His story was surprisingly emotional and beautiful.

One of the Best

Nash's story broke my heart. I'm a heavy reader of Military Romantic Suspense in addition to PNR, and I'm sucker for a Wounded Warrior - and Nash is definitely wounded. If you've ever wondered what happens to a Shifter's inner-animal when they've been pushed to the breaking point and kept away from their Mate? "Alpha's War: A Bad Boy Alpha Romance" is the answer. All the books in this series are fantastic, and Benjamin Sands is a great narrator - if there were more stars to give, I'd pile them on, for this one.

Finally, Annabel

I've been waiting for Annabel's story, and " Alpha's Mission: A Special Forces Shifter Romance" definitely delivers! It's a bit of a departure from the plot-formula of the previous "Bad Boy Alphas" series, which I think made it even more interesting.
