Well written
Revisado: 01-01-25
A lot of wisdom in this book presented in a clear and logical fashion. Clearly outlines the root cause of our social problems is a lack of fathers and we have turned away from God as a nation.
Yes, it really is that simple.

Words. We use them all the time, every day, mostly without giving them much thought at all. We take for granted that they’re here at our disposal whenever we need them. But if you’ve ever wished you could communicate more effectively, words are the place to start. It’s incumbent upon you to choose the best words to accomplish your goals, because how you choose to communicate influences—well, everything! The power of communication shapes our professional goals, our relationships, and our lives—so the words we choose to use carry a great deal of power.

75% you should have learned in elementary school
Revisado: 12-24-24
The last 25% finally got interesting. The first part had elementary topics like the difference between rein and rain. I would recommend for some whose first language is not English. For someone trying to promote good communication she kept referring to her partner past and present. Is a partner a more sanitize term for common law husband?

Historia
Over the first two-thirds of the twentieth century, as many as eight million whites left the economically depressed southern countryside and migrated to the booming factory towns and cities of the industrial Midwest in search of work. The "hillbilly highway" was one of the largest internal relocations of poor and working people in American history, yet it has largely escaped close study by historians.

Save your time and money
Revisado: 12-21-23
This book has a ton of research and facts, but never was able to come up with a coherent summary of all the information. Some of the conclusions given were senile and silly. For instance, the term white privilege was attached to hillbillies. Even today as a second generation college graduate I experienced prejudice working for northern based companies, based on my geography. Many people in the north think of you automatically a racist or stupid or both, when you are from the south. When my younger brother worked for a New York based major international corporation he was promoted. A representative from Texas called and said “let me get this straight, you’re from Tennessee and you worked in Alabama and they promoted you”?
After receiving an international award and still stagnating. He eventually left the company. By the way, terms like white privilege that have come out of the cesspool of so-called higher education do nothing but promote hatred and division. Once prestigious schools like Harvard have now become cauldron of hate as documented in recent events.

A lot of action the story moved along at a good pace. I would recommend Donald Robertson’s books. Everyone I have listened to, so far has been good without a lot of off color language or presentism.

Good story without sleaze
Revisado: 12-08-23
The performance was good too often English accents are over done to the point of being irritating. Good story compared to what is coming out today, but not to be compared to classics.

Historia
At the height of World War II, LOOK Magazine profiled a small American community for a series of articles portraying it as the wholesome, patriotic model of life on the home front. Decades later, author Matthew A. Rozell tracks down over 30 survivors who fought the war in the Pacific, from Pearl Harbor to the surrender at Tokyo Bay. The book resurrects firsthand accounts of combat and brotherhood, of captivity and redemption, and the aftermath of a war.

Puts a human touch to WW II
Revisado: 07-28-23
I always enjoy history stories were the actual participants are giving their stories. Versus being filtered through someone decades removed. The war made a lasting impact. All my uncles and father were in the war, and it shaped their world view. Our next door neighbor growing up had a son killed on Iwo Jima. I applaud the author for educating his students on the great sacrifices that were made for the freedom they have.

Great classics stories
Revisado: 07-21-23
Some of the stories I’ve heard in the past, but some were new to me. Very enjoyable listen by great classic writers. Unfortunately, we don’t have many quality writers today. Who can craft an entertaining story without a lot of smut and filthy language.

Historia
After struggling for years to work a raw-patch ranch in the arid flatlands of Texas, young Mitchell Newland learns that his herd of scrubby range cattle will fetch ten times their local price if they're driven to Montana. He strikes a one-sided deal with the devil, neighboring rancher Corliss Bilks, to back his play with cattle, men, and horses. The trail brims with hellish hardship: prairie fire, stampede, flooded rivers, hailstorms, rattlers, sickness, long, broiling days and frigid nights.

Marcus Ryker has been tasked with hunting down and destroying what’s left of the terror group Kairos. But before Ryker can mobilize his team of CIA operatives with their new assignment, a disturbing report from Libya suggests all may not be as it seems.
