I loved the first and second book. I was sad for what happened in book two though. The narrators did a great job and brought the story to life. I'm glad I chose to get the audio books instead of the ebooks.

I'm not a fan big fan of women doing male voices. Not everyone has the right tone for it.

I enjoyed the story quite a bit. My only issue was the narration. I wasn't a fan of the female narrators interpretation of the male characters voices. Kip and Cal sounded like teenage boys but they're supposed to be in their 20's. I wasn't a fan of the high nasally voice either and the characters weren't described as sounding that way in the book. I liked her voice and interpretation of all the female speaking parts, just not for the guys. I think I'll read the rest of the series myself

I really liked the storyline and the characters. The only thing that slightly bothered me was the male narrators voice. I don't know how to discribe it. it has a vintage comic book narrator feel. I didn't mind it for the other characters just not for Dominic.

A definite multiple listen book.

I'm so glad I decided to listen to the audio instead of reading the book. The narrators did a fantastic job of bringing the story to life and triggering the appropriate emotional responses during certain scenes throughout the book. I look forward to listening to this over and over before each new book comes out.

I couldn't finish it

I was able to get a little into book 2 but I just couldn't listen anymore. The male narrator was narrating the inner thoughts and descriptions so fast you could hear him inhale to catch his breath. It was also very monotone unless the characters were speaking. It was grating on me no matter how slow I adjusted the speed. I wasn't liking the direction the story was going either. I thought certain aspects were lame and cheesy and that the story would have been better if they had been left out. I think the male narrator made the story worse for me. I've listened to other books he's narrated and enjoyed them, but this was unfortunately not one of them.

I will listen to anything by Tate James. After listening to the Guild Series and Madison Kate and Hades, I knew this series would be just as good. It was spicy, thrilling and the storyline has you grabbing for popcorn. I'm know without a doubt the next 2 books will only get better.

anticlimactic

I was a bit disappointed with how the book ended. It was being built up throughout the series that this war was coming, and when Totem infiltrates the academy, it all ends in a very anticlimactic way in a brief confrontation. I was also starting to struggle with the narration. I felt like the way the female narrator read Oscar, gave him a bit of a different personality than when the guy was reading Oscar. Same with Rafa and some of the other male characters. When the female was narrating for Oscar he sounded like he had ADHD and just had a complete different vibe, which at times made certain things happening a bit funnier. overall it was a little confusing with two different versions of characters being read.

Luna is the HBIC

I'm enjoying this series. I like that Luna is no damsel in distress and can rescue herself. It doesn't hurt either that there is some toe curling steam that stops you in your tracks, holding your breath because your hearts pounding in your ears and you don't want to miss a single detail of what is being described because you're breathing to loud. You might want to listen to this some place private so as not to embarrass yourself.

I wasn't sure about this book but decided to give it a listen because it was on sale. It wound up surprising me how good it was, so I bought the other books in the series. I would recommend this to people who liked the Madison Kate series.

I loved this series!

I love this authors writing. Her stories are always exciting, full of steam and have you on the edge of your seat with every new plot twist. The conclusion of these books was so satisfying. And holy heck was this book steamy. Who new that the Leon we first meet in the Madison Kate series was hiding a crazy mega hottie underneath.
