Totally captivated my attention
Revisado: 03-01-25
I thought this book had a lot of substance in it. From High School to grown ups in a small town how friendships evolved and changed. Very interesting characters. Worth a credit. Also, I really like Amy Rubinate the narrator. She has an smooth voice and is very good with male voices.

Historia
A new beginning in charming Oceanside, Washington, is exactly what Hope Godwin needs after the death of her twin brother. There are plenty of distractions, like her cozy cottage with the slightly nosy landlords next door, and a brewing drama among her students at the local high school. Even having settled quickly into the community, Hope still feels something is still missing. That is, until her landlords convince her to volunteer at their animal shelter. There she meets Shadow, a rescue dog that everyone has given up on. But true to her name, Hope believes he’s worth saving.

A Different Approach To A Hard Topic
Revisado: 10-03-24
I loved this story of second chances for two people who had difficult things happen to them. A second chance for a young woman who gave her baby up for adoption who felt guilty about it and sorrow until given a second chance to be reunited with that child and bond. A young police office who was a snipper who made a mistake in his job and now is a very knowledgeable park ranger. The two meet in a small California town near the red wood trees and the ocean. A lovely story. I truly enjoyed it. Therese Plummer is one of my all time favorite narrators. I have probably listened to a few hundred of her books. Sit back and enjoy this sweet story with great characters.

EXCELLENTLY written, great characters
Revisado: 09-10-24
From the first two sentences I was hooked. this is a great book and story. I loved the characters in this book except the bad guys.
The good guys and the bad guys were easily. distinguished and it was great. police work and detective work to solve the case. I love Irene Hannon and I am so glad that I finally found this author and I've listened to about 10 of her books. I can't get enough of her.

This is a very nice story
Revisado: 09-04-24
I liked the character developments. It had a nice setting, very likable characters. A pleasant business story of a newspaper in a small town that was family owned and is falling short of money. It has a great reputation for truthful stories. Unfortunately they have to look for a buyer for the paper to stay afloat. A great newspaper from Chicago is interested in their journalism and takes an interest in the paper and sends his son to do an audit and there, we have a great love story to develop. Sit back and listen and enjoy!!!!
