Historia
Kate is a Keeper—a storyteller, magic-wielder, and researcher—but a single mystery has evaded her all her life: What happened on the tragic day when two strangers stole not only the puzzle box that hummed with magic but so much more? She and her brother Bo have searched for twenty years with no luck. Until Venn, a surly elf, shows up on the hidden doorstep of the Keepers' Stronghold with that same aenigma box—and a message that Bo has disappeared. Kate needs a guide back to Venn's homeland to search for him, and Venn needs to find him for reasons of her own.

The Next Lord of the Rings!
Revisado: 08-25-24
First of all, there is no female narrator who even comes close to Kate Reading. NONE. Second, this book is engaging right from the start. The story is great, the characters are well fleshed out, and it's a hard-to-stop-listening-to book. Be prepared to loose sleep when you start this book. I can't wait for more books in this series. One thing, I would recommend that you read the Keeper Origins Trilogy first, so that you understand some of the magic. There are some tie-in characters from that series to this, not many, but some.

MOVE OVER LORD OF THE RINGS!
Revisado: 06-07-24
Wow! I have been a fan of great fantasy epics like the Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time series (also read by the inimitable Kate Reading), Dune, The Dragonriders of Pern, etc. This sets a new standard for epic fantasy. What a rich world, so expertly woven. The characters are so superbly developed that you either love them or hate them. You have everything a great fantasy epic world needs: Heroes, villains, dwarves, elves, magical creatures hitherto unknown, and a dragon, a phoenix, and a unicorn! The plot evolves so naturally that you feel like you are living through their days and years with them. I got so invested with some of the characters that I actually started getting anxiety attacks when they were in danger! People, this is absolutely a fantastic series. Peter Jackson of the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit fame needs to direct any film version ever mad of this series. 75 hours of absolutely engaging and enjoyable listening for 1 credit. This is the bargain of the decade! I loved it!

FABULOUS IMAGINATION.
Revisado: 06-21-22
Her writing is so vivid and enchanting that I get totally immersed. I feel myself right there with each character. The only thing that bothers me about the reader is that she constantly mispronounces the title of the main character: Morgan, the Prince of "Hed". It is Hed, which rhymes with bed. She says "HEED", which rhymes with feed, or seed, or deed or reed. IT IS DISTRACTING AND JUST PLAIN WRONG. But... the trilogy is fabulous. Do ourself a favor and just sink into these books. You'll thank yourself.

PURE GENIUS! RIVER RULES THE UNIVERSES!
Revisado: 04-21-22
Wow! It's been a long time since I've been on such a journey as the one I just took with Alex Kingston. Talk about your twists and turns, and adventure, and danger, and RIVER and Melody, and CLEOPATRA. I'm breathless and my head is spinning. I had to listen to it all in one go. Now, I'm going to have to listen to it again and again and again. You will love this book. Her performance is just as amazing as it was on Doctor Who. She gives 100 percent of herself with every word. This was a wild ride from start to finish. I truly hope Alex has time in her amazing life to write many more books.

Sad to see the series end.
Revisado: 01-19-22
Molly Harper has a great imagination. I could live in Mystic Bayou very easily. I really enjoy all the characters. There is just one thing that I really dislike and that is the unnecessary use of the "F" word so much. Molly has an extensive vocabular, so there is no reason for the foul language. It makes me cringe. I know that it has become a shock value adjective instead of the verb that is actually is. Anyway, that's my opinion, for what it is worth.

Asimov ...I'm a little disappointed.
Revisado: 01-19-22
I have been an ardent fan of his since the 1970s. I was really excited to find this anthology, especially since he wrote a preface to every story. I've always admired his sense of humor, and his ongoing reparte with Anne McCaffrrey. lol. ( love all her dragonrider books too). But I have to say that I was not very happy with this book. I actually only found 5 stories that I really liked. The rest were just sort of average to me. I did not expect that. I read Nightfall when I was a teenager and still love it. Also Green Patches , C-chute, Sally, and Here There be Tigers.. Oh! and insert Knob A in hole B...reminds me of the military.

Revisado: 08-11-21
I'm a big Doctor Who Fan, especially David Tennent and Catherine Tate. I enjoyed hearing them perform these stories, I just didn't care for most of the stories themselves. I don't know why, but I didn't. Again...Audible failed to list chapter Titles, so I made this list for you to make it easier for you to find the stories you want to hear. :-)

Chapter 6 - The Nemonite Invasion
Chapter 7 - The Rising Night

What a disappointment for a Bradbury book,
Revisado: 08-10-21
I've been reading and loving Ray Bradbury's books since I was a young teen about 50 years ago, and sad to say, this is the first book of his that I have heartily disliked. This makes me sad. I was looking forward to some time with his usual inventive, futuristic scifi, but no... This is not his typical imaginative fare, this is intensely dark, such as an old married couple trying multiple ways to kill each other, a psychotic German psychiatrist obsessed with submarines who screamed at his patients, haunted graveyard dirt, etc. etc. I think he was going through an Edgar Allen Poe phase or something . There were a couple good stories but not enough. Anyway, I'm returning this book. Sigh.

This collection shows a vibrant young writer with a wide-ranging imagination, ferocious creative energy, devastating wit, and an eye for the wonderful and terrifying and tragic. Among the gems are "All the Sounds of Fear", "The Sky Is Burning", "The Very Last Day of a Good Woman", and "In Lonely Lands". Though they stand tall on their own merits, they also point the way to the sublime stories that followed soon after and continue to come even now, more than 50 years later.

Smart and sassy! Very Fun Read.
Revisado: 08-18-20
This is a cute story that engages you right from the beginning. it has well-developed characters and a clever story line that is uplifting and entertaining. It's a nice story that doesn't use foul language or explicit sex, like almost all modern stories do in this day and age. It's a very plausible concept for modern day dating with kind, funny, intelligent professionals. I really enjoyed this book, and you will too. Quite a few parts had me roaring with laughter, which is unusual for me. Great job! My recommendation is BUY THIS BOOK...you'll love it.
