Therapy would Fix Everything

Could not finish. Austin is super immature and unlikable. He continues addictive adrenaline seeking behavior despite the risk to his (and his brother’s) jobs and his family legacy.

Why not try sky diving? Or legal racing? He has enough money to do something else. Therapy maybe?!

I couldn’t continue reading after he gets in an argument with a girl and then notices she has period products in her purse. He has never had “to deal” with a girl during her time of the month.

Would not recommend.

This book has a similar erie suspenseful feeling as the Handmaids Tale. A few twists and turns with a huge cliffhanger. I know it might be an advertising tactic but it’s disappointing as a reader to have a huge cliffhanger to the book when book 2 isn’t included in the membership.

Disappointed that the only the first book is included in the audible membership and there is a big cliffhanger. It also looks like a lot of the others in the series are missing completely from audible. I’m sad I didn’t realize this before reading. I will probably abandon this series for that reason. Otherwise I enjoyed the book. Really great narrators and twists and turns!

The first half felt like a cautionary tale on why you should get therapy after abuse. She was deprived of love and accepted poor treatment. Fell in love with a guy who was treating her poorly.

After we got past that, the second half of the book was enjoyable with lot of action.

I liked the first 2 books in this series but this one was confusing. It didn’t translate to audio very well. I really had a hard time keeping up with who all the characters were and the plot seemed really slow. I’m sure I was approaching some sort of twist but I couldn’t keep up and didn’t find it worth it to re-wind.

It felt like the key plot points went by very fast and the ordinary stuff that wasn’t plot essential dragged on.

The voice of the “love interest” sounds like a voice you’d use for a villain. The result was zero chemistry. The story was pretty good but it dragged on.

She picked the wrong guy

Ok! My review might be bias based on the narrator but I was so attached to her relationship with the guy she didn’t pick. The narrators voice for the love of her life was so monotone and their love was so generic.

I wanted her to pick the other guy so badly. Their relationship was dynamic and fun. The other relationship was boring and forced. She even says something like ‘I really need to spend more time with him to give him a chance.’ You shouldn’t feel that way about the “love of your life.”

I would have even been happy if she kept both of them and I’m not usually into that style of book. There was so much chemistry with the “other guy.”

By book 3 the author had to come up with a crazy side story for the other guy that was just unbelievable and dull.

There was a lot of repetition that made the story drag on and the main character came off as annoying and cocky. Reminding me of a cocky bad guy who runs around sharing their weakness by saying “I can only die if you do XYZ” and then the good guys are like “perfect!” and do XYZ to kill them.

This had potential but would not recommend unless you like feeling frustrated.

Could not finish. It feels really boring. The main character acts like the whole thing is completely normal after just learning a vampire will feed on her the rest of her life and she is no longer free. Her biggest concern is gaining weight?! The story did not make me care about the guy enough to hope for any romance between them. The story didn’t really make sense and it feels very dull and boring. Maybe it would get better but I couldn’t wait it out. I’m honestly surprised there are so many 5 stars.

The book ends with the story unresolved. A very long and detailed book. It was suspenseful but lacked a satisfying payoff. I found myself frustrated and wanting to know more right up until the end. I’ve decided not to read the next one because I think it’s a set up for more of the same… more questions than answers. Giving it 4 stars because it held my attention and the audio performance was great.
