First, main character contradicted herself and her clear politics from the beginning. Then she ignored all her instincts. The political piece in the story was just dumb and a way for the author to look silly.

It was a good try on the authors part, but I hope they research better next time so the story is more realistic.

I’m just glad this was free. It was the first “thriller” audible I have tried, not my normal genre.

A lot of it was predictable. The narrator did a good job for the older characters, was not impressed with her for the American women parts. We don’t talk like that, especially free spirits like the main characters best friend.

Always a good listen

I love Jeff Wheelers story telling. I am always pulled towards his book when I am in the mood for a story where the love interest isn’t the focal point of the story. He lets his heroine develop her story and gives the love interest a side seat. He makes the female lead smart and doesn’t make her sound like she purposefully makes ridiculous choices. It’s such a great change from a lot of other stories out there.

A great listen

Crenshaw does a great job reading his book. There was a lot of information in this book that I wasn’t aware of before, specifically about the pre-existing condition bill. He keeps it entertaining by including some stories of when he was a navy seal. He shows his character within this book and lays it out there on what he believes. I hope one day he is able to lead this country as president. He has great integrity and would make a great leader for the US. This book is definitely one that should be read or listened to by many. Great reminders and great lessons within this book that would be good for teens and even pre teens to learn.

Could use improvement...

I listened to this book and then the second book before deciding to write a review. I figured this book was just building up to the action that is usually found in these books. That is all that happened. This book was good for building and continuing the story. A lot of scenes felt rushed and certain intimate moments felt just added in to make this an adult book. They were at the wrong times for what would be realistic and conversations didn't match how the characters were normally when it came to being sexy or intimate. I wouldn't even say it was cheesy, it was just not what you would expect and it didn't belong. It seemed like it was added as an after thought. Most of those scenes could have been done without and it would have worked. There were other scenes where it could have been added and it would have made sense.

I felt this was very rushed. The narrator has done better in other books. She was no on her game in this series. She read way too quickly and lacked proper dictation for the events in the story. This story has great potential like I said. It just needed more patience and not be so rushed.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. I needed a book that would make me laugh and this one did just that. I had to watch myself because I listened to it while at work and had to stop myself from laughing out loud. It’s all around a great book.

I really enjoyed this storyline. It was well developed and left enough suspense to keep you wanting more. The characters were well developed and didn’t seem juvenile as some books turn the main characters into.

As always, Jeff writes captivating books that suck you in and make you want more. I am heartbroken that this series is done as I’ve grown to love all of the characters and their developments.

Pulls you in...

Jeff does an excellent job of pulling the reader in and wanting more. The first book I read of his was The Queen's Poisoner and I have been addicted to his stories ever since. I enjoy the slight romance that buds between characters but it’s never over the top to make these books inappropriate for younger readers. The way he is able to make the stories flow is just amazing to me. All of his books would make great tv series’ as well.
