Historia
Michael McGarrity returns with the second installment of his sweeping, richly authentic New York Times best-selling American West trilogy set in the raw, untrammeled New Mexico backlands during the Roaring '20s, the Great Depression, and World War II. Hard Country, the first novel in the Kerney family trilogy and the debut prequel to his national best-selling Kevin Kerney crime novels, was critically acclaimed for its authentic, gritty realism; its sprawling, engrossing story; and its compelling, engaging characters.

A great story about the Oldwest meets the 20th century. narration is superb by George G as usual! if you like this kind of thing, you'll love this book. Actually, I cannot wait for the third installment, if indeed there is one forthcoming. very enjoyable front to back peace!

A nice read but not spectacular
Revisado: 01-04-15
Very predictable, the usual suspects apply, grumbling fighting politicians, Terrace, and heroes, not bad but overall kind of like a spaghetti western or a Mickey Spillane novel! Forgive me, I am using the Audible app to dictate this review, I have no site so I apologize for my errors and grammar or punctuation. Narration is good, narrator is believable and does the various accents quite well, he moves the book along nicely, I would say that a another more experienced narrator would bring more out of this book 3 and five but I stay piece… KG

Historia
"If Robert Littell didn't invent the American spy novel," says Tom Clancy, "he should have." In this spectacular Cold-War-as-Alice-in-Wonderland epic, Littell, "the American le Carre," takes us down the rabbit hole and into the labyrinthine world of espionage that has been the CIA for the last half-century. "Ostensibly a single novel, The Company can also be listened to as an anthology of cracking good spy stories," says ( Publishers Weekly).

A spell binding read!
Revisado: 07-06-05
What a trip! this book really takes over your life and won't let you go. Even after your finished the book. And trust me, that will take a while. At 40 hours, The Company is definatley a long read. I found myself becoming obsessed with this book. Staying up to late! Leaving work early! And yes: Calling in sick!!! I couldn't put this baby down. I am really finding it difficult to find a next read that meets the standards of the company. If you like excellent Characterization, accurate historical dramatization, espionage and a Ludlum type attention to detail then the company is for you. Warning!! Tell your Wife...This book will take over your life!!
Cheers...Keith
