Awesome advice and stories for wantrepreneurs
Revisado: 05-26-23
This is my favorite entrepreneur book. I relate to everything, understand everything, and feel enlightened and smarter by listening to it. There's no shying away from reality in this book. Peter might make some enemies from the things he says, but it's the truth so they can't dispute it!

Historia
In The Unicorn Project, we follow Maxine, a senior lead developer and architect, as she is exiled to the Phoenix Project, to the horror of her friends and colleagues, as punishment for contributing to a payroll outage. She tries to survive in what feels like a heartless and uncaring bureaucracy and to work within a system where no one can get anything done without endless committees, paperwork, and approvals. One day, she is approached by a ragtag bunch of misfits who say they want to overthrow the existing order, to liberate developers, to bring joy back to technology work.

As a developer of 20yrs, I could not relate
Revisado: 05-26-23
I gave unicorn a chance because I liked and related to phoenix, but this story was boring as hell and unrelatable. It's like watching a movie where you have to keep yelling at the screen to tell the character not to do something dumb when there's an obviously better decision to make. I made it 2.5 hours into the 12 hour audiobook and gave up. 50% of the story so far is saying how smart and accomplished the protagonist is, while making them do dumb things that don't make sense. I get the feeling someone who wasn't a developer asked a few developer friends, "what are some tech words a developer would use on a daily basis?" then made their character mention them without understanding it.

Made it half way and received no value so I quit

It felt to me like someone was just doing their best Tony Robbins impression and reading one of Tony's generic lessons on self empowerment. I guess it might benefit someone who never read a self help book before.
