Historia
Sleep is one of the most important but least understood aspects of our life, wellness, and longevity. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why we suffer such devastating health consequences when we don't sleep. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking, and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.

Invaluable information for every life
Revisado: 01-17-25
I liked the occasional humor, the facts backed by extensive research that was outlined and explained, and the breadth of topics covered. It is relevant whether you are young or older, an easy sleeper or an insomniac, Type A or more relaxed. Every parent must read this to nurture and protect his or her child's growth through adequate sleep.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

Marvelous vocabulary employed to describe simple events.I loved the wit displayed by Elizabeth
Revisado: 11-09-24
The overblown depth of emotional responses seems just that by comparison to the very constrained daily behaviors.

Historia
When, at age forty-six, Nancy Pelosi, mother of five, asked her youngest daughter if she should run for Congress, Alexandra Pelosi answered: “Mother, get a life!” And so Nancy did, and what a life it has been. In The Art of Power, Pelosi describes for the first time what it takes to make history—not only as the first woman to ascend to the most powerful legislative role in our nation, but to pass laws that would save lives and livelihoods, from the emergency rescue of the economy in 2008 to transforming health care.

The clarity of her recitation of events.
Revisado: 09-17-24
I was very happy with the recent history review from times since I've been an adult. she clarified some legislative and concurrent presidential actions I didn't know about. but did so in language that reflected perspective . There were many events she could have related with hostility but instead were colored with regret for outcomes for our country.
I have no doubt of her love of country, the Constitution, her colleagues, and her family nor that her religious principles guided her behavior.

the strong, multidimensional women
Revisado: 08-08-24
I first liked the historical time frame. The big war is over, but the aftermath is so different in the U.S. compared to the heart of Europe that has been so indelibly changed. The women in the story are all liberated by both loss and opportunity to take on new roles-even the huntress herself.

Historia
Early one morning on the shore of the Thames, DCI Samuel Owusu is called to the scene of a gruesome discovery. When Owusu sends the evidence for examination, he learns the bones are connected to a cold case that left three people dead on the kitchen floor in a Chelsea mansion thirty years ago. Rachel Rimmer has also received a shock—her husband, Michael, has been found dead in the cellar of his house in France. All signs point to an intruder, and the French police need her to come urgently to answer questions about Michael and his past that she very much doesn’t want to answer.

Overblown descriptions of emotional reactions were bulk of text. Ending was legally ridiculous and central character's response made me think the author had to meet a deadline rather than finish the story.

good story, overblown descriptions
Revisado: 06-22-21
The story was intriguing enough that I was attentive to the end. However, I was non plussed by the extensive use of the central characters' supposed abilities to read numerous emotions from other characters' eyes or facial expressions. That's rather a lazy literary device to avoid better explanations for motivations or actions. overall a good read.

PS.,Kate's doc is right she can't afford any more blows to the head. Rather read as she uses it to solve the question than as a target.
