We've been thinking about sex all wrong. Mainstream media, movies, and porn have taught us that sex = penis + vagina, and everything else is just secondary. Standard penetration is how men most reliably achieve orgasm. The problem is, women don't orgasm this way. We've separated our most reliable route to orgasm - clitoral stimulation - from how we feel we should orgasm - penetration. As a result we've created a pleasure gap between women and men.

Clarifying sexual puzzle pieces
Revisado: 05-02-25
This book affirmed some things I've noticed about myself, such as my vagina enlarging when aroused, and gave insight to things I didn't know yet but that made sense, such as my vagina lengthening when aroused. This is key as to why some women don't enjoy intercourse; their bodies simply might not be warmed up yet.
Laurie Mintz gave permission to communicate before, during, and after sex. I can attest that communication does aid in enjoyable sex. The man I've had sex with admires and appreciates that I haven't faked pleasure. I've let him know, both subtly and directly, what I have and haven't liked.
Here's my favorite quote from "Becoming Clitorate:"
"People who care about each other are much better off taking the attitude that the purpose of disagreeing is to get closer rather than to win."

This book was intentionally broken up into segments to where it was easy to listen to a session every day or every other day. The method of listening a little bit every day created a habit of consistency. I appreciate that. Well done to the authors.

Historia
“Long live the King” hailed Entertainment Weekly upon publication of Stephen King’s On Writing. Part memoir, part master class by one of the bestselling authors of all time, this superb volume is a revealing and practical view of the writer’s craft, comprising the basic tools of the trade every writer must have. King’s advice is grounded in his vivid memories from childhood through his emergence as a writer, from his struggling early career to his widely reported, near-fatal accident in 1999—and how the inextricable link between writing and living spurred his recovery.

Archiving from library
Revisado: 04-25-24
After the first fifteen minutes, I'm archiving this title from my Audible library; to me, so far, for this season of life, it isn't edifying.
The author does have a easy-to-understand writing style, has done well at finding his voice, and uses good imagery to make it feel as though you're there in the stories with him.
My favorite quote by him in the little I listened to was, "We are writers, and we never ask one another where we get our ideas; we know we don't know."

Affirmation
Revisado: 04-24-24
This book
1. gave affirmation that I'm an ambivert who's more extroverted than introverted
2. gave good insight as to what goes on in an introvert's world
3. provided how to healthily interact with introverts (and how to recognize when an introverted friend needs space to themselves)

Many Christian families have never experienced the joys and benefits of family worship. But as Donald S. Whitney makes clear, the daily worship of God by families at home is a practice rooted in the Bible and common throughout Christian history. How can people unfamiliar with family worship lead it in their own homes? How do busy households in today's culture recover faithfulness in family worship? This practical book shows you how simple and easy it can be.

In The 100 Thing Challenge, Dave Bruno relates how he remade his life and regained his soul by getting rid of almost everything. But The 100 Thing Challenge is more than just the story of how one man started a movement to unhook himself from consumerism by winnowing his life's possessions down to 100 things in one year. It's also an inspiring, invigorating guide to how we all can begin to live simpler, more meaningful lives.

Boundaries with Clutter
Revisado: 11-17-23
Kerri L. Richardson explores roots to why we have and keep clutter. She looks beyond the item itself and says, "Clutter is a beautiful tool for self-exploration, self-understanding, and self-compassion." If she were Henry Cloud, she could very well title this book, "Boundaries with Clutter."

Peace in the Father, steadied by His Word.
Revisado: 10-10-23
I experienced abandonment anxiety right before leaving on a road trip. I listened to "Breath as Prayer" on the road and recommend it to anyone going through a season of grief. It aids in regulating breathing, relaxing the body, and is paired with Scripture verses, relaxing the mind and soul. God's Word is living and active, and the Father's peace is like no other.

With Him
Revisado: 08-18-23
I'm in a season of grieving before my Father and it's sacred, because He's with me. Much of Ann's book sounded like it could've been written by me. I teared throughout her graced-filled stories, weeping with tears of an aching heart that's mixed with gratitude, and was comforted by my Father. He let's me be still with Him and have His heart beat on mine.
