Historia
Moonlight Bay: a safe, secluded small town that is at its most picturesque in the gentle nighttimes that inspired its name. But now, somewhere in the night, children are disappearing. Christopher Snow believes that the children are still alive. He is convinced the disappearances have everything to do with the catastrophic effects of secret research conducted deep within Fort Wyvern. To keep those secrets, violent and powerful forces are willing to conceal even the most heinous crimes.

Boring and tedious
Revisado: 07-05-08
I have enjoyed other books by Koontz but in my estimation this is a disaster! I am over half way through the CD and I am going to stop listening. It's as though the author is straining to fill up empty space. The I like a good fiction but this is not only out in left field but it's over the fence. This entire book reminds me of the end of a Stephen King book. At least his are enjoyable until the endings. If I purchased this in a store where I could return it for my money back I would. It's as though Koontz was smoking something wacky while writing this. I'm not sure I want to take a chance on another of his works. Save your money on this one.

Almost didn't finish
Revisado: 12-31-07
This book took so many twists and turns it was hard to follow especially near the end. I found the book somewhat confusing. When I read a book, I want to be entertained and find myself actually in the character's shoes. I didn't get that from this book. I found that I had to concentrate extremely hard so as not to get lost and have to re-read portions. A little too hard to follow and technical for my taste. This would be great to read in a paperback, but when I listen while driving I would rather be a little more entertained and do less concentrating and thinking.

Great Read
Revisado: 12-31-07
This book kept me guessing all the way through. The plot kept me interested from start to finish. Every time I thought I had it figured out another twist would send me in a different direction. Very entertaining and enjoyable. It might have been a little unbelievable at the end but never the less it kept me on the edge of my seat. I would definitely like to see more from this author.

The die is cast. Their lives will cross in Jurjevics's engrossing debut thriller, brilliant and terrifying in its medical and historical accuracy. Hanley's inquiry and Admiral Rudenko's quest bring them up against hazards much bigger than microbes: scientific megalomania, lingering cold war tensions, world-threatening environmental toxins, all unfolding in the unforgiving extremes of the Arctic.

Too complex
Revisado: 12-02-07
I spent more time trying to figure out the characters and plot than being entertained. I don't want to have to think so hard that I'm afraid to miss on sentence that I need to keep rewinding so I don't get totally lost. I felt as though I had to work to listen to this book, however this may be someone's cup of tea, but it is not mine.

Historia
One of this country's leading political satirists dangles before us a tantalizing novel whose protagonist has a great deal in common with a recent First Lady. Beth MacIntyre, First Lady of the United States, has been charged with the murder of her husband, a Presidential Lothario of the first water. She is accused of throwing a historic Paul Revere spittoon during a bedroom spat, putting an unfortunately fatal dent in the President's lust-filled head.

Entertaining and funny
Revisado: 12-02-07
This was an enjoyable trip into the private life of the President and First Lady. I found myself laughing out loud while listening. The mix of mystery and light hearted comedy was very refreshing and entertaining. I didn't need to strain and follow many different and confusing characters and plots, just sit back and enjoy the entertainment. The main character of Boyce Baylor was a combination of wealthy arrogance, humor and sarcasm. This character reminds me very much of Andy Carpenter in the David Rosenfelt books. In fact, both authors have used Grover Gardner as the reader who is great. Mr. Gardner does a wonderful job of switching characters and really had me convinced that he was that character. I think Mr. Gardner has really found his niche as the wise cracking, sarcastic rich attorney as well as the other colorful characters of the story. After listening to all of David Rosenfelt's books, I felt starved for more of the type of humor and mystery mix and found it in this book. Please mr. Buckley, give us more of the Boyce Baylor character and use the excellent reading of Grover Gardner. Loved it!

Confusing

This book was extremely confusing with all of the technical verbiage and intricate explanations. I found the book hard to follow and almost stopped listening to it. I read a book to be entertained and do not want to have to work to read and understand it.

Total entertainment
Revisado: 11-03-07
Since my first read of Rosenfelt I have been a fan. Great story line, witty and funny. After my first book I purchased all of the available CD's and even bought his first two books that are not on CD. All of the characters in the book are colorful and unique. The narrator fits into this role so perfectly that I was actually able to visualize Andy Carpenter. I can't wait until the author's next book. This was such a great break from the usual mystery novel. The humor is what makes it stand apart from the standard murder and courtroom dramas. Bravo David Rosenfelt!

Witty and fun
Revisado: 03-26-07
This was my first David Rosenfelt novel. I found it to be entertaining and witty. The author and narrator go together like peanut butter and jelly. Who says that the author needs to be deadpan when writing a murder mystery. I found myself laughing out loud alone in the car. I'm sure those next to me at the stoplight were also amused! My wife listened to it when I was through and she enjoyed it as well,in fact I would hear her pull into the garage and have to go out 20 minutes later to see if she was alright. She just couldn't stop listening. A great mix of mystery and levity. I am going to purchase both of the other books Audible has to offer. As others have said, we need more unabridged options from this author.

Slow and confusing
Revisado: 09-28-06
I tried to listen to this book and got so confused by the various characters coupled with the lack of being able to understand the narrator's heavy brogue, I finally had to give up. I have listened to hundreds of audio books and I must say this is the first one that I actually could not finish. It's hard enough trying to listen to audios over the traffic noise without the brogue. This may sound cruel but honestly it is the worst, most difficult to follow book I have ever listend to. I will be on the lookout to make sure that I don't purchase this author or narrator again. A total waste of time and money. Sorry!

I listened to these guys on the way into work today. People passing by must have thought I was crazy because I was laughing out loud with nobody else in the car. They are histerical and really seem to enjoy what they do. I plan to buy a years subscription to downloads to their show. Buy them and you won't be sorry. Much better than listening to the comedy channels on satelite radio.
