Historia
Antonio Mendez and his future wife, Jonna, were CIA operatives working to spy on Moscow in the late 1970s, at one of the most dangerous moments in the Cold War. Soviets kept files on all foreigners, studied their patterns, tapped their phones, and even planted listening devices within the US embassy. In short, intelligence work was effectively impossible. The Soviet threat loomed larger than ever. The Moscow Rules tells the story of the intelligence breakthroughs that turned the odds in America's favor.

Fascinating read but the plot is hard to follow.
Revisado: 05-11-20
The Moscow Rules is a great, non-fiction book into the world of espionage. I learned a lot. I had a hard time following the plot though because it appeared to jump around. I would still recommend this novel to any “spy” movie or book enthusiast.

Historia
Hoping to bring some Tinseltown money to the Valley, the mayor lures a movie studio to town to shoot their next production, a big-budget Western in the classic tradition. The star is none other than ruggedly handsome—and notoriously badly behaved—Thad Perry. When the mayor decides that someone needs to keep an eye on Thad so that he doesn’t get into too much trouble, Bernie and Chet are handpicked for the job. The money is good but something smells fishy....

Another A+ for Chet and Bernie!
Revisado: 06-17-18
I absolutely love Chet “the Jet” and Bernie! They make a great team who need each other to be any good at solving mysteries. Bernie handles the “so therefores” and Chet always “grabs the perp by the pant leg”. Funny, sweet, and the book keeps you on the edge of your seat. This book wasn’t my favorite mystery but it probably was my favorite Chet and Bernie novel overall.
P.s. In other Chet and Bernie mysteries, Chet almost always seems to have something very bad happen to him that lasts a good chunk of the book. There was a similar scene in this book but it wasn’t overplayed or drawn out. It was appropriate to the story and didn’t make me “mad” at the author for letting it happen to Chet (I hate animal cruelty!).

Historia
Spencer Quinn’s first original audio short story reveals how everyone’s favorite detective duo - Chet the Dog and P.I. Bernie Little - came to meet before their first big case in Dog On It. As fans know, Chet first met Bernie on that fateful day when he flunked out of K-9 police school. The details of that day, though, have always remained a little vague (like so much in Chet’s doggy brain). All we know is that Chet had been the best leaper in his K-9 class, but for some reason he failed his final leaping test...and that a cat was involved...and that there was some blood. But whose?

I always love reading about Chet and Bernie's adventures. Excellent author - he makes you feel like you really know Chet in a funny and complete storytelling type of way. The narrator is superb. This particular mystery wasn't my favorite but I loved hearing from Chet about his adventures as always. :)

A Little 'Creepy'
Revisado: 01-25-18
I LOVE Dani Pettrey and anything written by her is extraordinary! I also think that Therese's narration is top-notch - very impressive! The only thing I didn't like about this book was the plot revolved around a very 'creepy' antagonist. That person is scary enough to give you chills and keep you up at nights! I have liked the plots of Dani's other books better but, as always, would highly recommend her books. :)

I love Dani's books! As always, this was a great read. I enjoy her combination of romance and suspense. I thought her Alaskan series were awesome but this book was even better! Can't wait to read all of the books in this series. :) And, Therese did a fantastic job narrating! I got lost in the story; her reading is so believable that I felt like I was there!

Love Dani's Books!!!
Revisado: 01-15-18
I love the 'Alaskan series' by Dani Pettrey about the 'McKenna family'. Dani is one of my favorite authors. I love her great storytelling and combination of romance with adventure! I also am so thankful that her books are also available as audiobooks.
[Spoiler Alert!]: I only have two small suggestions: I wish that the male main character in this book, Reef, could have sounded more "manly" (but I know that's super hard to do with a female narrator) and that Meg would have said something at the end of the book... since she was the one being rescued. I wondered throughout the book if she may have been "in on it" and that was neither completely proved nor disproved in the end.
