Oh boy… it wasn’t good

It’s just not good!! I’ve never been so bored in my life. The beginning is pretty crazy and you think you’re being setup for a wild ride, then zzzzzzzzz. The hate on Mandy was wild. I don’t have fake lashes or fake nails, but the way the sister is described was gross. Cora is annoying, I don’t care if she has perfect golden hair while Mandy is bleach blonde, you’re annoying Cora. Dean should’ve just bounced after the basement. I mean, if my sibling slept with my fiance because they were forced to.. obviously not thrilled about it. Not sure if it’s something I could get past, but I would have some understanding it was to survive. For them to survive and me to say “I love you, I’m sticking by your side” and then my finance to be annoyed with me at every turn and then find out they were still hooking up with my sister… BRUH! He may have beat the serial killer, but he’s also kinda of a loser/whiner. I do not wish Cora and Dean a happy future, they’re idiots!

Such a good audible book!!

The voices were perfect. I see a lot of Haunting Adeline or Butcher & Blackbird people hating, but I’ve also read those and still loved this book. I laughed so much listening to this. He’s a tough hot guy but at one point gets hurt and almost whimpers and you giggle. It was a fun one for me!

Kept me interested and the twist was a good one. The main character was awful to the point if she lived or died I would’ve been fine. You definitely weren’t rooting for her. Too many **face palm** moments. Overall, not bad.

So slow/boring and ended on a low note

Overall the story wasn’t great. The main character clearly trapped in adolescence makes you cringe a lot. The ending is just sad. On a funny note, the narrator made all the women sound like Linda from “Bob’s Burgers”… sorry if I ruined the book for you now! I’ve tried a couple Riley Sager books and I think he’s not my cup of tea. A lot of words without a lot of action. Not a bad palate cleanser book I guess.

I like Lucy’s books, but this was a miss for me. I started this last year and stopped halfway through. Recently read more of her books so I figured I’d try this one again, but it just wasn’t great. The narrator did a good job though.

If you read “Haunting Adeline” this book isn’t for you! I think this will be the last TikTok book recommendation I try. Main female character is annoying using birds as curse words (oh flamingo, holy swan) it gave me the ick during “spicy” scenes. **insert something spicy** female character “oh my goose that feels good.” Girl, stop!! Male character is ok, but also kinda dumb! I finished it, so there’s that.

Love the author, not loving this book

He’s been a favorite of mine for a while, but this book wasn’t it. When the killer is revealed it’s a giant letdown. It actually took me a min to remember where I had heard their name. Overall the story kept me listening, but not my favorite book of his.

The twist is so dumb!! The female lead is not great and there’s too much inner monologue. I will say the “who done it” kept changing, so there’s that, but the main twist that happened was on the table of possibilities, so I wasn’t blown away. The second twist was just DUMB! Also, learn a little about the judicial system before writing about it. It’s like podcasts that say “He’s going to spend the rest of his life in jail!” Nope, that prison. Big difference!
