It started off as a simple idea and I started finding flaws I the premise right away. But some of those flaws were addressed eventually. And the character development was intriguing enough to pull me into the story. Creative look at so much of what the American society has experienced the last few years and how we have responded.

Romance a bit much

Fun story if you like fantasy. A bit repetitive with the “vulgar gesture” and “bobbed throat” type descriptions but I appreciated the detailed descriptions of people and places. I enjoy fantasy and it’s a good story, but the detailed sexual encounters were not necessary, especially the constant reference to “size”.

LOTS of Tennis

If you’re into detailed play-by-play tennis action this is the book for you. The relationships are well developed and the story is sound. I’m not a sports fan and still enjoyed the story.

Intriguing

Want to know how to discover happiness? Do everything opposite of what Wormwood suggests. This is an intriguing view into the thoughts of humans and how they make us who we are. The narrator presents the material quite professionally and enhances the story being told.

Lovely story

This is a story about a bank robbery, except it’s not. Well written. Well read. You cheer for every character.

Great story - poor pricing

If you enjoy Sci fi but hate gratuitous violence/sex this is a series for you. Not too happy about the price for such a short book.

Beautiful!!

I “couldn’t put this book down”. Such a wonderfully told story of family, persistence, love, frustration. Two stories were interwoven so artfully I was always excited for the beginning of each chapter no matter where it picked up. And the reason I love good historical fiction, I learned so much. I had no idea Polish people suffered so much during WWII. I highly recommend this book.

Interesting premise

I appreciated the technical aspects of terraforming Mars and the angst between those who want to develop vs those who want to leave the planet in its natural state. I found myself annoyed by some of the personalities and ended up just wanting to “get done” with the story. May not take on the second book.

Wow!

I wasn’t keen on the “voices” but I did appreciate the change of voice as different sections of the story were told. This was a hard story to hear and now to live with. This is our history, it’s ugly and I pray that none of my ancestors were involved. It’s also an important story to hear and retell. I would say it’s just as important as teaching the Holocaust. We must know history in order to not repeat it.

Well developed and enjoyable

A sweet, touching story of friendship and inner strength. Eleanor is at once awkward but endearing and you find yourself eager for her to find happiness.
