Historia
Something strange is happening at the Orsk furniture superstore in Cleveland. Every morning, employees arrive to find broken Kjerring wardrobes, shattered Brooka glassware, and vandalized Liripip sofa beds—clearly someone, or something, is up to no good. To unravel the mystery, five young employees volunteer for a long dusk-till-dawn shift and encounter horrors that defy imagination.

Clever
Revisado: 09-09-21
I can, with certainty, say that I wished Bronson Pinchot had been reading the whole thing, not like our female narrator was awful. He brightens up every second that he has and assists with the slow spiral into horror in the best of ways.

Historia
Abandoned by his parents as an infant, Scully was reared in an orphanage, Huntington House. The only positive thing in his young life was the attention of the Home’s director, Walter “Pop” Dix. Pop, an avid surfer, would take a small group of kids for early morning surfing. He was the father none of them ever had. That was 30 years ago. Now, Shane is forced to revisit these memories when Pop is found dead, the victim of an apparently self-inflicted shotgun blast.

Really enjoyed this book!
Revisado: 03-27-19
There was a lot of action, our hero learns a bit of humility and further lowers his defense against the world.
What really got to me was the emotional content. I really felt engaged in the development of the characters and their respective journeys as they related to Pop.

Historia
In December 2017 the famous porn star August Ames committed suicide in a park in the Conejo Valley. It happened a day after she’d been the victim of a pile-on, via Twitter, by fellow porn professionals - punishment for her tweeting something deemed homophobic. A month later, August’s husband, Kevin, connected with Jon Ronson to tell the story of how Twitter bullying killed his wife. What neither Kevin nor Ronson realized was that Ronson would soon hear rumors and secrets hinting at a very different story - something mysterious and unexpected and terrible.

Sad
Revisado: 03-14-19
There are times where the author shows his boss in the reporting of what he's learned, but overall I feel like he followed leads and new ideas as the presented themselves.
There seems to be a lot of vilification of her husband, and his apparent half truths and the emotional rollercoaster he seemed to ride did him no favors in dissuading people from their negative opinions of him.
I feel that there were things about August's life that were hinted at, and may have provided more answers than were ultimately found but they not pursued by the author because the goal was not to expose her flaws but rather to shed light on a traffic event that is one of many that occurs with an alarming frequency in the microchasm of the porn industry.

Revisado: 06-18-15
I enjoy the Grimnoir series, I wish there were more full length stores, the characters are likable and the stories flow very well. Bronson Pinchot does a fantastic job bringing the characters to life.

Couldn't Stop Listening!
Revisado: 03-08-15
I really enjoy the detail, character development and pace of the Dead Six Series.
I am emotionally invested and feel as if I know the characters personally and can picture each one individually. As a retired Navy Chief I am impressed with the level of tactical detail and knowledge of the weapons used.
Bronson Pinchot does am excellent job performing the story, bringing the work to life.
AN ABSOLUTE MUST LISTEN!

Great Time Passer
Revisado: 05-26-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The stories are interesting, some portions are a bit predictable and the author appears to go to lengths to show the character working out the answer that the reader surmised 3 pages back. However, there are excellent plot twists and side stories that will catch you unawares.
What other book might you compare Magic Strikes to and why?
Not the book so much as the Mercy Thompson stories. shifters, vampires, etc. It gives a great selection of genre and lore within the story. I enjoy the level of the author's research and attention to detail, especially in this book as I have just discovered it.
What about Renée Raudman’s performance did you like?
She offers an emotional depth to her characters. Some of her male characters sound similar, but as she gets into the lead characters, it is interesting to hear her capture her interpretation of them.
Who was the most memorable character of Magic Strikes and why?
So far in the book I enjoy Aunt Bea, though her female Knight Were-Hyena friend seems really cool.
Any additional comments?
I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
