Historia
Donald Thornton was a ditchdigger who wanted more for his six daughters. "I love you better than I love life," he assured his children. "But I'm not always gonna be around to look after you, and no man's gonna come along and offer to take care of you, because you ain't light-skinned. That's why you gotta be able to look after yourselves. And for that you gotta be smart."

Wow! A must Read! A need to read!
Revisado: 02-21-23
This book should be in every home library. It touches on so many factors. But the main factor is the importance of a father with a vision and an unstoppable work ethic. He had what's called Bulldog faith. I loved the story, the ups and downs the nuggets of wisdom that will start to incorporate with our own children. Indeed your education is the one thing that can not be taken from you. Well done, Well done. I will not be the same after reading this book.

So much improvement, so little change
Revisado: 02-04-23
This book is a portrayal of the actual trial and the in and outs of the course of actions that was taken and why. I liked each chapter and took away many insights and other people and laws that I will research later. Back to this book. It wasn't until chapter 16 that, my emotions got the better of me. I cried and felt so much joy learning about The Supreme court's decision to overturn segregation in transportation. This book also hits on other concepts that we still grapple with today, segregation in education, gerrymandering in drawing voting districts, the use of the N-word, white rage, fear, and others. I will come back to this book as it reminds me that we have made so much improvement and yet so little has changed.

The Science of Getting Rich is the classic guide to creating wealth through the Law of Attraction. Wattles, "There is a science of getting rich, and it is an exact science, like algebra or arithmetic. There are certain laws which govern the process of acquiring riches; once these laws are learned and obeyed by any man, he will get rich with mathematical certainty."

More Books to read
Revisado: 02-08-20
While I don't personally think the tile lends itself to the book. There is definitely A LOT , and I mean a lot of names and book drooping. he mentioned so many other artist, authors, and musicians, that I fell a bit ignorant because I haven't heard of these people. I need to re-listen to the book so that I can compile a must read book list for 2020. I did enjoy the story, and i gain knowledge which is exactly what I wanted.
