Historia
To escape from a life of petticoats and politeness, Hilary answers a curious advertisement for a pirate crew and suddenly finds herself swept up in a seafaring adventure that may or may not involve a map without an X, a magical treasure that likely doesn't exist, a rogue governess who insists on propriety, a crew of misfit scallywags, and the most treacherous - and unexpected - villain on the High Seas. Will Hilary find the treasure in time? Will she become a true pirate after all? And what will become of the gargoyle?

For the young at heart as well as younger people
Revisado: 11-28-17
I like to read (now also listen) to all types of books and I truly enjoy being entertained as I was with this book. It’s lighthearted and interesting and I find I can set the timer and fall asleep nicely as well as truly listen when driving as well as when doing chores. Listening helps time fly and these characters are just that - characters, quirky and fun. The narrator has a great voice and I found myself calmer when listening to this book. I will start the next book later today. Thanks for a fun read!

Historia
What if your favorite characters came to life? Billy’s spending the summer in a lakeside cabin that belongs to the mysterious Dr. Libris. But something strange is going on. Besides the security cameras everywhere, there’s Dr. Libris’s private bookcase. Whenever Billy opens the books inside, he can hear sounds coming from the island in the middle of the lake. The clash of swords. The twang of arrows. Sometimes he can even feel the ground shaking. It’s almost as if the stories he’s reading are coming to life! But that’s impossible...isn’t it?

Fabulous! I'd love another to follow his life!
Revisado: 10-08-15
I just adored this book even though I am an adult; the storyline was fun and exciting, the characters interesting. I liked that the characters grew with the book and I love to read about things that would be wonderful if they happened to me.
I know this book was meant for young readers, but I listened to it twice, I enjoyed it so much. The tale had just enough scientific possibility to it to let me go on the ride with the characters even though I knew better, but I suspended my grownup side, left it on a shelf somewhere while I plain enjoyed every part of this book.
The narration was terrific, it added so much to be able to distinguish each voice, all involved should be proud! I wish there was a follow up book so I could follow Billy and the cast of characters, minus one person, of course (can't tell, will spoil) but now that I think about it again, that person could come back in a different, helpful way. I WOULD LOVE A CONTINUATION to see what happens next, please think about it and use the same narrator(s) - I can't remember at the moment if there was one or many, it sounded like there were many, one for each character. Thank you!
