Hilarious listen for pre-teens and adults

Love the series, not for everyone

I love this series and have since I was in middle school because it’s mostly just a teenage girl and her friends/family living every day life. It’s written in diary style so you really feel like you’re experiencing what Georgia (the main character) is.
Georgia is a bit sassy but she’s quite funny and the author does an excellent job of writing a teenage girl. Sometimes it gets a bit petty and the drama is always not-so-serious stuff like getting detention for laughing too much in class, but that’s part of the draw.
Obviously the British slang and humor aren’t for everyone. I definitely preferred reading them over listening originally so I could look up slang in the back of the book, where I don’t usually listen to audiobooks while holding my phone. And not every one wants to listen to a teenage girl complain about flirting with the local grocer boy or shaving her legs wrong.
If you like the Princess Diaries series, this is similar, except Georgia is less shy, more outspoken, and not a princess like Mia.

This book has made me laugh several times, out loud. I’ve even re-listened during car trips. It’s not a perfect book, it’s a bit scattered and it’s definitely dated but the references are typical for Tina Fey’s humor.
I’m disappointed to see so many reviews complaining. About cursing, this isn’t a book for kids? If you don’t like feminism, why are you listening to a book by a feminist?
This book is good if you like 30 rock’s sense of humor or want to know more about what it’s like to work behind the scenes at a place like SNL. There’s also a very funny bit about cruise ships.
All the negative comments are probably due to prudishness and not liking this style of humor. I thought it was decent
