If you’re looking for a fun escape without a political agenda, look somewhere else.

I get that writers have political views, and that sometimes they want to put those into their stories, but there should be a disclaimer or something If you’re going to fill your story with Political rhetoric. I downloaded this because I thought it would be a cool sci-fi escape from reality. I didn’t stop listening at the first sign of political grandstanding, but eventually it got to be too much. Some people really like political entertainment, and I’m glad that it’s available for them. However, I tend to shy away from even political entertainment I agree with. Engaging in political debate, and discussion, as well as staying up-to-date on political issues is a chore to me. I don’t like it. I only do it because it has massive effects on my life and future. I have absolutely no desire to spend my unwind time engaged in it. I would’ve loved to see where the story was going, but I just don’t want to subject myself to political preaching.

Genuine encouragement for bettering your life

I’ve been following John Lovell for a while now, and if you have too, you’re going to recognize the majority of his messages throughout this book. For those unfamiliar, it is a lot of great advice on how to be a better man for yourself, your family, your your community, and the world in general. This isn’t a book about being a gunfighter. This is a book about training yourself to face whatever challenges or obstacles you may encounter in life. Sometimes those are physical threats that have to be met with violence, but far more often they are the challenges of our relationships our responsibilities, and our own self-discipline. This book serves as a roadmap to find the problem areas in your life and encourage you to better them. There are better books for focused self improvement, but this is very valuable, entertaining, and personable. It feels like John is taking to you in person, not just reading and speech. I definitely enjoyed it amd would recommend it.

Gripping, enjoyable, and highly satisfying

As a military vet myself, it was great to read a fictional book that had so many accuracies to military experience, but that was just the cherry on top to a really compelling and engaging story with a world rocking ending. it’s not a master fully crafted mystery, thriller, with a bunch of twists and turns, but it is a lot of fun with some heavy elements that keep you emotionally engaged as well. James Reese is a bad ass that’s still relatable as a husband and father, and is not written with an over abundance of stereotype that’s so often put into characters of this role. It’s by no means lighthearted, but it is fun, and I look forward to reading more by this author.

One Of The Few Times I’ve Been Genuinely Surprised By An Ending

All of Shayne Silver’s books have been enjoyable. I haven’t enjoyed his Feathers and Fire series quite as much as the Nate Temple Chronicles, but I’m still addicted to Cali’s adventures and unique personality. This story starts you off with no idea what’s going to happen and does a stellar job of keeping that going until the end. I pride myself on figuring out how stories are going to go, and while I did guess a few major points, the final confrontation with Dracula completely caught me off guard. A rare treat.
Well done Mr. Silvers.

Completely Hooked On The Series

These stories continue to build on one another. Answering old questions, while still providing new intrigue. I not only can't put the books down, I can't finish one without immediately picking up the next.

Truly Inspiring

I really enjoyed seeing into the story of two people who have been very successful based upon only hard work. It's truly inspirational to hear about how they overcame their struggles, personally, relationally, and professionally to build something that's ment so much to so many people. Chip really encourages me to be a better person, and Joanna'd faith makes me want to put a lot more focus on my own walk with God.

Powerful and Pertinent

I really enjoyed the book. It was a great look into what was going on, both in Bengaziand with the operators. I enjoyed it even more than Lone Survivor and American Sniper. An excellent telling of a tragic story.

Flat and Unrealistic
