Great plot and twists
Revisado: 08-28-24
This Kiersten Modglin thriller was another excellent listen. The more of her books I listen to, the more I’m hooked. The narrator was hard to get used to. Very monotone, but the story was so good I couldn’t stop listening. She is my new favorite author.

Historia
When a renowned - and now dead - travel blogger washes ashore on the banks of Indigo Plantation, Police Chief Callie Morgan of Edisto Beach agrees to head the investigation as a favor to the county sheriff, whose reasons are as questionable as the death itself. When death turns to murder and a watchdog from the county makes her investigation difficult, Callie reluctantly turns to Carolina Slade and Wayne Largo, vacationing agents with the Department of Agriculture. Because poison is growing on this plantation, and someone knows how to use it well.

I Love these books
Revisado: 05-16-24
I have been listening to the Edisto series for a few months, in numerical order. I am a SC Native and vacation on “The Island” at least 2 times a year. So to say these books speak differently to me is an understatement. I really try to read/listen to all local/Native authors and can’t believe I haven’t stumbled upon C. Hope Clark’s books before now.
All of the books in this series had me on the edge of my seat. Dying On Edisto was a little bit slower comparatively speaking, but I still enjoyed it and can’t wait to start the next book in the series.

Great Low Country read
Revisado: 03-08-24
I read a few of the reviews before I listened to the book myself and have since started the second book in this series. I have to disagree with the negative reviews about the narrator for Murder on Edisto. I really enjoyed the animation in her voice. It really helped me tell the characters apart. I knew by the toned of her voice and the changing accents who was speaking.
The story was awesome. There were several times during the book that I unknowingly had my mouth open, because I was so surprised, wowed or couldn’t believe what I had heard.
Some people might be able to figure out the “Who Done It” before the end of the book. I am not one of those people. I like to follow along, as not to ruin the ending. So it might not grab some like it did me, but this was a really easy listen for me.
Two thumbs up

Historia
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

Eye opening
Revisado: 01-09-24
Wasn’t sure how I would feel about this book. I can tell you there were points during the reading I was teary. The Hell her family, especially her mother and father put her through to guarantee their financial security is unfathomable and quite frankly made me sick to listen to. I commend Britney for finally finding her inner BadAss and advocating for herself, her boys and her mental health. Bottom line, it’s a really good listen.
