I’m so glad Leslie exists on this earth! This book is a must read for life lessons and inspiration. It will make you cry, and duh, laugh your ass off. I’m going to listen to it again because it’s filled with so many wonderful words of wisdom. I had to stop and soak in some of the heavy chapters. My advice is to listen all the way through, repeat and listen again.

Fascinating story but it comes out slowly

This tells a fascinating story of a black man dealing with white supremacy in the south 150 years ago. The way that the story is told microscopically through points of view of legal system and different people involved in the story can be a bit of a drag. Holistically it is definitely worth listening to. I think the story is fascinating but I tend to listen to these books in small pieces at a time . I definitely thank the author for putting this together.

Very informative but not bias free

this book did a very good job of describing issues in the resource curse nations which are producing oil and the addiction to oil that nations in society have. That being noted the more sane actors in the oil and petrochemical industry do not have their counterpoints explained in the book creating space for people who would try to discredit points made a lot of freedom to ignore important truths. I do not know of another book that would balance the information you get from this one but it is very valuable and I recommend it as a listen for sure. I think this helps explain why there are so many obstacles to go from a carbon energy economy to a less climate destructive energy economy. The information and research is great but i knocked off a point for bias. Overall I think this is Entertaining and more than usefull and I recommend it to everyone
