Hopeless Horror, Woman Mutilation, and a Cringey villian
Revisado: 04-14-25
if you don't like horror where the villian is a "mysterious figure" that never seems to get caught while the main protagonist is going crazy— this is definitely a book you want to avoid. While I love the narrator , he can't help this terrible cringey story. it's edgy to be edgy , the protagonist are beyond helpless and it feels like the plot drones on FOREVER. Also, I was excited at the start of the book—and I understand why it's there, but it feels like an exciting story got ripped from me and it got replaced with a Hollywood horror story. Lastly, if you hate mutilation against women , that's also something to avoid. Overall, shitty book.

Ugly Accents and Lack of Feminine Understanding
Revisado: 03-01-25
Ok, so I LOVED Patrick C Harrison's book "100% Match" So I thought I'd love this one. But it's just uncomfortable. Surprisingly, it's not the gore I'm talking about. This story overall just gives the trope "Women written by men". When the "man vs bear" tiktok question came up , I was officially turned off. Not to mention the uncomfortable amount of um...fake blackness in the book. The constant pointing out of race (specifically black people) is a bit distasteful. Not to mention the black accents from the narrator are super cringe. Black dudes shot by cops, "he'd be his twin if not for the skin tone", stereotypical auntie black woman characters. As a black person it just feels kind of icky. So don't read this book if you want a REAL WOMAN main character and you're uncomfortable with black stereotypes.
