Joey Morales was the last recruit of the government's full black operation, the Orphan Program. Trained to be an assassin until she washed out, she was rescued by Evan Smoak, the former agent known as Orphan X. Now Joey, a world-class hacker, starts training for one of her biggest challenges yet: having a normal life. Still a teenager, she discovers she loves music as much as hacking, if not more so. But as she carves out a space for herself, the one thing missing is a family to support her endeavors.

Great story; tired of Jibes directed at our POTUS!
Revisado: 12-25-19
Silly me...until this book (I have listened to the first 4), I thought I was listening to a male author....."she" has such a great ability to capture the main character's (a tough, male FBI agent) thoughts and actions that the author's gender never entered my mind. So I was blindsided by her first undisguised jibe at our current President's lack of sympathy toward rapists and those that support them. She even alluded to the now debunked attack against our latest SCOTUS branding him a rapist. I almost turned the book in.....However I continued listening (I have risen above PC)....where at the end, she manifest her feelings that she has a "duty" to point out her political basis whether the listener cares for it or not. .

Historia
Aliens exist...and, as it turns out, most of them aren’t that friendly. Jacob Brown wasn’t even born yet the first time they attacked Earth. He was only 14 the second time it happened. When Earth finally came together and fielded its first spaceborne military, Jacob didn’t hesitate to volunteer. Serving aboard a mighty starship, he’d be able to defend his planet - and his family - when, inevitably, they came again.

A great chip off the Omega Force Series Block!!
Revisado: 09-25-19
As I am a loyal Fan of the Omega Force Series (must have relistened to the Series numerous times), I am delighted to have read this first book in a new Series tied to Omega Force. Although I enjoyed the Expansion Wars Trilogy, Omega Force's comradery coupled with Paul Heitsch's delivery made for unique story telling of the highest order. I will definitely be looking for more from both Series.

Right up there with Orphan X and Court Gentry!!!
Revisado: 08-31-19
I've been crawling through the genre to find another author at the same level as Gregg Hurwitz and Mark Greany sowing stories with genuine intrigue, action, and with a plausible story line to keep one interested. Well this is my first book with Jack Mars and he is quite promising. I will be going onto the next in the series.
This Book has all the sharp edges and gut wrenching action to satisfy the best agent apatite.

Historia
Sam Prichard was a cop, and a good one, until bullets took out the joint of his right hip. Now he's trying to learn to live without being a cop, getting to know his neighbors, learning to walk again and even ride a motorcycle. Life is bearable, barely, but then he gets asked to find a missing child, and the lure of getting back into some kind of police work is too much for him to resist. When he teams up with computer whiz Indiana Perkins, he suddenly becomes one of the best investigators he's ever even known.

Naive and predictable character interaction
Revisado: 08-25-19
I have once again stumbled onto a "thriller" with no sharp edges and characters that seem to be awfully nice to one another. The narrator does a super job with what he has been given. No fault there. But I'm predisposed to the Work of Mark Greaney (Gray Man), William Miller (Jack Noble), and Greg Hurwitz (Orphan X). Plenty of real world grit and adventure pouring from those authors..

Historia
After witnessing the murder-suicide of his parents as a child, Noah Wolf suffers from a form of PTSD that has left him without emotion, without a conscience, and without the ability to function as a normal human being. With the help of childhood friends, he learns to watch others around him and mimic their behaviors, in order to conceal the fact that his mind operates more like a computer that he has spent years programming. That program is what allows Noah to pass himself off as normal.

Unfortunately everyone is so "Nice"!
Revisado: 02-22-19
I had expected a character and story such as the likes of Detective Black or Evan Smoat (the No Where man) or even Jason Bourne; but alas, the dialogue is rather flat and all the characters seem to be one dimensional ("Nice"). However, I decided to finish the book to its predictable end.
This book could almost be included in a Juvenal Library.

Historia
Nate Overbay, a former soldier suffering from PTSD and ALS, goes to an 11th-floor bank and climbs out the bathroom window onto the ledge, ready to end it all. But as he’s steeling himself to jump, a crew of gunmen bursts into the bank and begins viciously shooting employees and customers. With nothing to lose, Nate climbs back inside, confronts the robbers, and with his military training, starts taking them out, one by one. The last man standing leaves Nate with a cryptic warning: “He will make you pay in ways you can’t imagine.” Soon enough, Nate learns what this means.

A gut wrenching thriller to be sure
Revisado: 01-29-19
I decided to purchase this audiobook because I love the Nowhere Man stories; and of course Scott Brick is without equal as narrator. For nearly three-quarters of the book, the Story centers on the depression and helplessness of the "Hero" and his family as they try to escape from the clutches of a Ukrainian Mob Boss. I considered several times just putting the book down....abandoning it. In last quarter of the book; however, Hurwitz does finally put some starch in the Hero and things end in a convincing; albeit, bitter sweet way.

Detective Film Noir actually works in Modern LA

This is a real page turner with unexpected plot turns and twists. Who would think that "vintage detective film noir" would work in modern day L.A. complete with sassy repertoire and all.
