the balance of ieals
Revisado: 06-14-24
This was a interesting take on an well trampled path. Distopian or post apocalyptic stories have different takes on causes and survival and I always want to discover what problems the author presents and then how he solves them. I always put myself in and think how I might do it. I was intrigued by the bend this book took.
I was most impressed the balance of possibly contrary points-of-view. Often when an author invokes god or Christianity into a story I wonder if it's just to check a box. Selling books in America might go better if it conforms to a presumed idea. God feels real while Aaron maintains a sci-fi storyline. One does not preclude the existence of the other, it can't in reality.

ethnocentric whitey christ saves all
Revisado: 07-05-22
I read this book hoping to see a survival story even if it's out of time, but it was just a Christian, white ethnocentric, all dark Skins are cannibals, wolves are bad and somehow run 300 to a pack (never heard of).

Historia
Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

Excellent readers, for a really good story
Revisado: 03-01-18
This first in the series sets up so many twists that occur in the next 13 books it is amazing how much the author had in his head from the beginning. Thouroughly enjoyed this story, I find I wonder what the characters are doing as we switch back and forth through the book.
