Historia
But those seven bottles of mead were more than just a folk blessing. As Lord Minalan the Spellmonger began his honeymoon on a decadent river barge with his very pregnant bride, he had no idea that the occasion would have anything more complicated than eating, drinking, and making love on the agenda. But a frantic message from one of the Tree Folk indicating he and Alya may be in danger compels him to skip the lazy repose and travel to a far away ruin to speak with a possibly crazy Alka Alon mage - Lilastien, the Sorceress of Sartha Wood.

A great addition to the story. while not super relevant to the main story. it was however a cool side story. as always with this series, performance was amazing.

Historia
The goblin invasion is on...and a wizard's work is never done! After facing a hopeless siege, an implacable foe, and an impossible escape, you would think that Minalan the Spellmonger would be able to rest - but the armies of the undead goblin shaman Shereul (known as the Dead God to his human victims) are rolling over the Western reaches of the rustic Duchy of Alshar and is headed toward the heart of the Duchy of Castal. Thousands are fleeing for their lives as hordes of goblins pour out of Boval Vale and devastate the rugged fiefs of the Alshari Wilderlands.

Really enjoyed the performance, story, and characters. The shadow politics from "the family" and other nobles was intriguing. excited to start the next one

Gotrek and Felix: unsung heroes of the Empire or nothing more than common thieves and murderers? The truth perhaps lies somewhere in between and depends entirely upon whom you ask. The storm clouds are gathering over the icy city of Praag as the evil forces of Chaos lay murderous siege to the frozen lands of Kislev. Standing between the massed hordes of darkness and the city's destruction are dwarf slayer Gotrek Gurnisson and his sworn human companion, Felix Jaeger.

another good novel in the series. however, I was a little disappointed with the climax but overall still decent enough writing and an excellent performance as was with the previous books.

Historia
Darrick Lang is coming home. Years ago he left the town of Bramwell to walk the wide world as a soldier of fortune and champion of the realm. But Bramwell is not as he left it. Something dark and terrifying has ensnared the townsfolk, something very old and very patient, tangling innocents in a web of malice and profaning the very earth itself. Now that same power calls to Darrick, and his only hope may be to walk the same perilous path of damnation.

Historia
Minalan gave up a promising career as a professional warmage to live the quiet life of a village spellmonger in the remote mountain valley of Boval. It was a peaceful, beautiful little fief, far from the dangerous feudal petty squabbles of the Five Duchies, on the world of Callidore. There were cows. Lots of cows. And cheese. For six months things went well: He found a quaint little shop, he befriended the local lord, the village folk loved him, he found a sharp young apprentice to help out, and, best yet, he met a comely young widow with the prettiest eyes.

A book with a ton of potential but......
Revisado: 03-18-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
This is a decent read but the story is ridiculously difficult to follow and would probably be best as an actual paperback novel.
What three words best describe Ralph Lister’s voice?
Narrators voice makes it difficult to tell what characters are actually actually talking because they all sound like the same person.
Any additional comments?
I thread that this is one of the best rated epic fantasy series but as an audio book it falls short.

Does not follow the game's story at all
Revisado: 02-04-13
What would have made Baldur's Gate better?
The story seems to be completely made up and does not follow the story what so ever.
What could Philip Athans have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Author needs to seriously play through the game before attempting to recreate the story in novel form.
Which character – as performed by Fleet Cooper – was your favorite?
Performance was ok at best. Characters we somewhat believable however, I get the impression that the narrator never played the games either.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
No redeeming qualities in this book. I can not even finish it.
Any additional comments?
This is a Baldur's Gate flavored story with characters and locations from the game but does not justify the epic story that was the original game.

Surprisingly Good!
Revisado: 10-09-12
Would you listen to World of Warcraft: Wolfheart again? Why?
This was actually one of the better Warcraft stories out there. It begins slow but once the skin of the story has been peeled away, it just screams with intensity.
Who was your favorite character and why?
All of the characters were represented well.
What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?
Narrators performance as excellent. Very believable. It seems like he actually did some research before attempting to do the voices for each character.
Any additional comments?
Great listen, also a great read!
