A fantastic read. Survival of the Richest joins a host of my favorites on the shelf. He’s now up there with Haidt if not towering over him on the subject — because the root cause… the real problem… is the tech bros and their unchallenged greed! They are the threat! Torches and pitchforks are needed now more than ever.

Terrible narration for a classic

A real travesty that the narrator wasn’t more formidable. Clearly mispronouncing common words — a sign of the times, I suppose.
Regardless of the narration, it’s a classic and it always has a place on my shelf. I keep a copy right next to Orwell, Huxley, and a few others.

After all, if we must discard the ideas of Kant, Hume, and Mill for their opinions on race, shouldn’t we discard Marx, whose work is peppered with racial slurs and anti-Semitism? Embers of racism remain to be stamped out in America, but what about the raging racist inferno in the Middle East and Asia?

Came across as a nonstop whine fest. Yea, the woke are a problem and the west is often the target of their ire. Yet, it’s a problem that will be corrected soon with the large scale collapse of civilization in this decade. When people are too comfortable they attack anything and everything they disagree with. Discomfort brings a reckoning.

As a 20-year military veteran working in intelligence and airborne/air assault infantry, I find this subject to be highly entertaining and informative. William Donovan was a highly skilled and prescient genius who made it all happen - with guts - that are now, sadly, lacking throughout the military industrial complex as well as society, in general. We need great men like Wild Bill. “Break glass in case of war” types…. now…. more than ever.

Excellent history of a damaged man

I like these histories of the under men who weren’t the ones in the spotlight. While Washington got the glory, Lee persevered in his megalomaniacal quest for the same. Not enough room in the world for both of these warriors. Great lessons to be learned.
